I have bought a new house that has a cottage on the land that i am doing up to rent out.

I noticed the plug socket had a charred/burn mark on it.

I have attached a photo here.

Does that look like a problem that was caused by a specific device that was plugged in there or could it be a sign of a bigger issue with the electrics

    in the cottage?

    thanks

Get the socket changed. That thing looks like it's from the 80s.
