    Another timeout, it's falling apart at the seams now.

    I don't understand the move to Vanilla at all. VBulletin was apparently scrapped because it was so modified it couldn't be maintained, the site moved to Vanilla in what was supposed to be an overnight process (🤣🤣), then Vanilla was modified to look like old Boards.

    At least VBulletin could be tinkered with by Boards staff, now issues have to be raised with Vanilla, and when they fix or update something it throws one or more of the modifications requested by Boards off kilter. 🤯🤯🤯

    For what Vanilla charges they could have hired someone to write the code for a custom forum but nah lets pay some foreign company and have continual disruptions and near on impossible to have the site function like they want with features they need (like mods saying regarding post reports)

    It always seems to be okay for me when I am catching up on all these posts! I use the desktop version.


    I spoke too soon! I went back to edit punctuation and got this, although it seems okay again now.

    What happened?

    The initial connection between Cloudflare's network and Vanilla timed out. As a result, the web page can not be displayed.

    What can I do to resolve this?

    Following on from this, they [vanilla] seemed to have messed about trying to fix this double post issue and broken lots of other parts of that forum

    I posted a reply to 'Moss on roof' in diy

    I got a note bottom L of screen - 'your comment will appear when it is approved' ...Wha?

    Comment didn't appear

    Posted comment again 5 mins later and got same note but comment made it onto the thread - comment is there but on the home page it didn't register and thread only has the op's 1st comment

    Just checked there and the 1st comment must have been approved by the approvers and also made it into the thread

    Hey there,

    Yes there is an issue with a spam filter add-on. It stores some posts in a moderation queue to be approved. However, it is catching way too much, some posts should even be in there. It has been disabled on our side again but it is still throwing some posts in here. It is to be looked into but I haven't heard anything back as of yet. I'll update when I get more info.

    Just opened 6 new tabs on desktop for threads that I had notifications of replies to and 3 failed with bad gateway errors. Refreshing those pages with errors brought me to the correct page. (~14:00hrs).

    Wake me up when it's all over.

    I wanted to put in an update as I received a small bit of info. Vanilla have narrowed down the problem enough to escalate it through the lists as a major issue taking priority over others. We are hoping for a resolution very soon.

    I am just curious. Are software changes tested before they are released live? At the very least, it does not seen like there is rigorous testing going on. Surely the developers don't just amend the live system with their fingers crossed.

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph.
