Welcome to the second Star Trek Werewolf game on boards! This game will be modded by Mollyb60, Fixxxer and myself.

We are opening sign ups, with the game set to start on the 25th of July.

If you want to play, please respond below. Please also state your preference in terms of anon accounts vs. non-anon (you can choose as you prefer).

More details of the setup and Trek era will be disclosed closer to our start date.

If you have any questions in the meantime, please let us know!

Edit: We have decided to push the game out a week to allow for updates to the new boards platform, as well as allowing players and mods alike time to get used to the new platform.

Bag, put me on the sub list, I'm not a big trekkie and timing might be bad for me to fully commit

Was gonna take a break this month, but for theme alone I gotta opt-in.

And obviously it would be rude not to play as my own account given my username, although I do have my fingers crossed for a DS9 theme despite the lack of LeVar... Anything as long as its not DISCO (I don't hate it, I just don't care for it) though is a must play theme for me.

    TLDR ; I'm in, non-anon

Last few didn't work out for me. Work stress was nothing to guilt I felt not playing my part in werewolf. So i would like to keep a track to improve game but will opt to be a sub if needed. If not wull follow anyway.

We are looking at pushing this out by a week as things stand - give everyone a bit of a chance to get used to the new platform.

If that doesn't happen... I'm in!

So yeah most likely I am not in it seems but blame Baggly :pac:

Translation :: Hopefully in a weeks time, they'll have reverted back to the old site and away from this horrible monstrosity :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 35,024 ✭✭✭✭Baggly

Nah this site will be here to stay. But they are working out the knots.

It will be better as we go I reckon.

Things that I feel would currently hurt an active werewolf game.

    1. no search this thread ability.
    2. post numbers not being displayed.
    3. no post count by user, the old method don't work no more :(

Things that the new site has now that improves things for ww.

    1. @mentions
    2. pasting pics.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 35,024 ✭✭✭✭Baggly

100% agree. We will see which are here to stay and which are bugs and make a call.

    4. no multi-quote ability.

    5. quoting doesn't have a link to the original post being quoted.

    6. can't edit quoted section, eg: to highlight the specific text, or edit down to the specific text that you're replying to (or to do a massive quote of the OP to hide some hidden messages in).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 35,024 ✭✭✭✭Baggly

As a workaround, you can screen grab a post and paste it into a response fairly easily. Doesnt solve all problems but maybe addresses some around quoting.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,872 ✭✭✭Neowise

Maybe this has been resolved since your post qb, but, number 5 seems to be resolved. Click the time (or date) link in quotes and it'll take you to the quote.

If the site isnt in a better spot for a game closer to the 25th, we can look at that (as we know that can be done).

However unless we are talking about moving all future games offsite in the longer run, we might be as well trying the game on the new platform (with hopefully further improvements made in the meantime) to see how we go.

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 16,287 Mod ✭✭✭✭quickbeam

Actually, scrap 4) too. I just figured out how to multi-quote. Actually very easy. Just keep pressing the Quote button and each one will be added to your post.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,872 ✭✭✭Neowise

not sure about that yet qb.

multi quoting from the same page is a piece of piss, but i just tried quoting a couple of posts from page 1 and then one from page 2 and it don't work.

and i can't copy the quotes from bottom of page one, and paste then into the next page to make a super multi quote post either 😭

Testing this, first from page 1, second from page 2.

    Hmmm??? 😓

Not that I expected to be able to figure out something that Neowise hasn't figured out.

maybe if we had a choice of a 2nd editor, one that is less wysiwyg, so we could copy out the quotes collected on each page we could make it work.

although, that would require more control panel settings that i see available at the moment.

old boards had tons and tons of customization settings, new site does not have any customizations for me, maybe subbed users have more, but my only options are let poeple see my email address and make my profile private, thats it. no custom posts [er page, or what editor i'd like to use etc.

Maybe all the settings are in the pipework.

    No Tables :(

  • Moderators, Social & Fun Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 53,811 Mod ✭✭✭✭Necro

    Test

It appears to multiquote from different pages

You need to quote said posts and Save Draft - then navigate to the next page

It's working albeit a little janky - an advanced editor would be handy because currently quick reply is a bit naff tbh

No we still have them, you just have to paste directly if you have Excel

Or take a screenshot/use Snipping Tool if you don't.

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 16,287 Mod ✭✭✭✭quickbeam

Ahh, Save Draft works Shane's post above from first page, and Valeyard's from this. Though, I picked Shane's first, and it appears second. At least they're all in one post.

  • Moderators, Social & Fun Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 53,811 Mod ✭✭✭✭Necro

Yeah so when you change pages you have to navigate the typing cursor to the bottom of the saved draft to have them appear in order. As I said, stupidly janky and not remotely obvious at all

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 16,287 Mod ✭✭✭✭quickbeam

Okay, thanks @Necro, that worked, above in the correct order now. And apologies to Shane and Vale who are going to get repeated notifications that I've mentioned them in this thread. You have been excellent guinnea pigs, guys.

for tables as images, if you want others to continue your work and adapt the table, its probably best to attach your work in a spoilered addition.

as editing images to edit table will get old very soon.

    1 2 3 4 5

    2 4 6 8 10

    3 6 9 12 15

    4 8 12 16 20

    5 10 15 20 25
