Induction Hob Wiring

Hi guys, I've replaced my old hob with a new induction hob. A Candy CIC642. My question is, the wiring diagram appears to show L1 & L2 to be linked for 230V application. I have a junction box at the back of the new hob from the previous hob. Do L1 & L2 need to be joined at the junction box? The heat resistant cable goes…

Hi guys,

I've replaced my old hob with a new induction hob. A Candy CIC642. My question is, the wiring diagram appears to show L1 & L2 to be linked for 230V application. I have a junction box at the back of the new hob from the previous hob. Do L1 & L2 need to be joined at the junction box? The heat resistant cable goes into the bottom of the hob and would need me to unscrew the screws and possibly voiding the warranty. I don't appear to be able to post pics for information, sorry.
