6 month old shed oozing sap and cracking

Hi all,

My shed that was erected in November is starting to oozing sap and is cracking in places where the sun shines the most, it is pressure treated wood.

I have no idea is this is normal or not.

You can see day light through the cracks from inside, two of them I have patched up.

Pretty normal for timber to dry out if not fully seasoned when built..also sap would be normal in quality of timber used in sheds.

It will eventually stop . Just make sure keep up the treatment finish.

Shed makers and I know of several often leave the timber out in the yard so it gets wet. Downside is that there is a lot of shrinkage as the timber dries out (upside is timber doesn't split when nailed). However from the finish on the shed I can see there isn't much shrinkage so its good from that point of view.

When I make sheds for myself I don't use any timber with those sticky knots on them or at least try and put them where they won't matter. Someone making a shed professionally just takes the timber as it comes off the pile so you will always get a few pieces like that on any shed.

On the whole your pictures don't look like anything really bad.

Is there a breathable membrane on the inside of the shed walls?
