Depends on whether the main green light is a forward arrow or a full green circle.
If only a forward arrow is showing, you cannot turn right. If its a full green but without the arrow, you can turn if safe.

Is the "straight on" a green arrow, or is it a green circle.

If it is a green arrow pointing ahead, then you can only proceed straight ahead.

If it is a full circle green light then you may proceed in any direction permissible if the way is clear.

If there is oncoming traffic, and it is a full green circle, you move forward to the middle of the junction and wait until it is safe to turn.

Where there is a full circle green and ALSO an additional green arrow pointing to the right (or left) then when that green arrow is on, it is giving an additional period of priority time for vehicles to turn right (or left) with the opposite traffic stopped.

Then yes - you can turn right if safe to do so.

Is the right arrow part of the lights or a separate sign? If part of the lights, what colour is the arrow?

As long as you do not have a red light, you can proceed on green when it is safe to do so.
