I’m occasionally on TV, kinda. I fade into the background though, once I do my job properly. So thankfully no 15 minutes yet.

You know, with YouTube and social media, old Warhol wasn't far off.

I was on Anything Goes on RTE in the 80s when I was about 10. A nature slot looking at plants and insects in Dublin inner city, then an interview in the studio. The following Monday a younger kid asked me for my autograph on the way home from school. I then got Aonghus McAnally‘a autograph at a book launch a few months later, and he wrote “to my TV co-star”.

I got cancelled then for disparaging comments I made against the Swiss while on a cocaine binge, and haven’t been on TV since.

I was in a couple of scenes of the last year released I Am Patrick: The Patron Saint of Ireland. Front and centre for one. Some buzz in fairness. I can claim to have been on Netflix! I'd love to do more, but my look isn't really sought after that much, plus with having to have a job I can't commit to bigger productions. Always wanted to be an actor.

I've been on todayfm as a caller on quizzes no less than 4 times and won each time, and was in todayfm one time in studio as a guest on the Ray D'Arcy show.

That's about the height of it. Some legacy :D

I was on Scratch Saturday fadó and won a pop quiz. Kevo handed me a paper bag of cassettes afterwards
Mam and I were basically wandering around RTE the rest of the day, posing on the Lotto lectern and watching a musician rehearse in the Kenny Live studio.
I remember a boy from the quiz was on the same train home from Dublin, and THE GLARES I was getting off him were something else!
I was ambushed for autographs that Monday in school, and it was old news by Wednesday :)

I lived in Chicago for a while and was in the audience for an episode of Jenny Jones. I made a comment and it ended up on the show. I'd forgotten about it but was DJing at a bar over there and the bartender saw me on the show! Got a free drink.

I was on one of those hidden camera tv shows a few years ago. Nothing too embarrassing thank god.

I made a 7 second Youtube thingy for fun for my daughter. It went mildly viral but caught the attention on Storyful and they in turn let it go to 4 different TV shows (2 in Malaysia).

I got €500 in total. The first €250 of that came whilst I was sitting at a beach bar in Tenerife in February a few months after posting it.

Sweetest few bob I ever made.

I was captured on TG4 walking across the goals in the pissing rain at Dr Hyde Park with my uncle after Galway v Roscommon in the early 00s.

A couple of years I cropped up again on tv acting the bollix on some boat party off the coast of Greece.

There, that's it. That's the claim to fame.

I'm told by my friend via an excitable phone call that I featured for maybe 10 seconds on an RTE news report about a St. Patrick's Day parade back in the early 80's. I was clutching my scraped knee, hopping on the spot after tripping. Never got to see it myself. :/

I've got a YouTube channel with 400,000 views - pennys in today's money but still.

Going to spend the summer being filmed as part of a production being made for TG4. Expected to air in October.

Have had my face in a few local papers over the years. I think if you make any effort at all or do anything remotely interesting you'll have your 15 minutes.

I ended up being an extra in the background in Ros na Run, just happened to be in Spiddal on a random day and asked if I'd mind in the background of the bar, no problem, I was drinking beer and the girl I was with was drinking wine, they kept filling our drinks between takes, ended up quite drunk by the end of it.

I've been interviewed a fair few times over the years, for the national newspapers mostly.
Had a photo op with Leo Varadkar, he was probably one of the most significant people I've met.
All work related, nothing remotely scandalous at all!

Also, I was interviewed on Matt Cooper's radio show about 2 years ago. It was recorded the day before it was broadcasted.
Strange listening to my voice on the radio :o

Does fame even mean anything anymore? It's more a measure of debasement as much as anything.

Nope, actively avoid the limelight. Hate publicity and hate attention. Difficult in the job I do, always press looking for interviews, but I always manage to push someone else to the fore.

Almost got sacked from one position because I refused to do TV interviews.

There is always someone else who wants the media attention..:)

I am ex British Army and we came in useful to support a few movies as they filmed in either military barracks or training areas when they needed explosion's.

I was a US Marine in the blockbuster movie Full Metal Jacket for the training scene's. I actually got quite a lot of screen time, you can tell its me as I am first one to collapse while doing press ups when private pile feck'ed up

I was a hairy ass German in the opening scene of Gladiator, I also signed off for them to use fuel/oil pyrotechnics (explosions) in that scene as I was the military explosives expert supporting the movie. I got to go clubbing with Russell Crowe in Guilford and we got bloody wasted!

I was also the explosives expert / military liaison for the James Bond movie Die another day for the hovercraft scene and most of the scenes filmed in the UK. I didnt go clubbing with Peirce Brosnan but we did share a curry and few glasses of wine (ok I was at the other end of table with 22 others).

In total all my Hollywood airtime that I have influenced is about 45 minutes:D

I was also in a Bollywood film purely by accident 20 years ago when I was on holiday, the director approached me and my wife and asked if we would be in a scene. In the movie my wife at the time was wooed by some Indian star while I went to the bar for a drink after talking to him about cricket. His own wife showed up, they had a quick fight and then they broke into dance....... I joined in..... I was shoite..... In my defense I only had 1hr to learn the moves

    Grand National quiz?

I'm always put off entering because of the nature of some questions. Like, if I was asked what the name of Kim Kardashian's daughter was, I'd know the answer, but I'd be embarrassed to admit on national radio that I know something about these utterly irrelevant people.

I did a couple of interviews on my recovery from addiction a couple of years back, on the radio with Pat Kenny and an article in the Irish Independent. Kind of just about being a mother with a young child and the stigma and additional challenges you face trying to get help with your addiction etc.

I didn't particularly enjoy it, especially since I chose to waive my anonymity so they used my real name and photos etc. But I kinda felt it was important for other addicted mums who may be at home on their own with young children, to see that it wasn't a shameful thing, to see the face of a real person who had been where they were and gotten out the other side, to know that help is out there and that they won't lose their children if they seek help (a very real fear for many.)

Not sure I'd have the balls to do it again, but I'm proud of myself for doing it. No regrets.

Blackboard Jungle when I was 15. We lost in the first round.

I got 4 in the specialist round, not bad. Was disappointed in my performance in the buzzer round, never got my brain in gear .

I've been in a few of my buddies rap videos. Usually I'm the DJ person but not always. In one I got kidnapped and thrown in the trunk of a car by a ketchup baron.

Was on TX in the late 90s when I was 11 or 12 on the phone. They had a loot or laundry thing where you answered a question and picked a basket of loot or laundry, all the answers were OTT, that boyband. Must have been on the show or something. Was also on Hiúdaí on TG4, played some platform game with your keypad on your phone. No idea how I managed the Irish but I managed to win an acoustic guitar on it.

Was fairly good DJ back in the late 90's early 2000's and used to play shows under an alias in mostly the pubs and late bars. Was too eclectic for the Irish nightclubs, but, that suited me fine. Had no real 'fame' but later heard the college going crowd were bootlegging a lot of my gigs and dj mixes through burnt cdr's and were extremely popular for a time. Some entrepreneurial feicer was making a good living selling my mixes, albeit under my DJ name. Was nice all the same knowing you were blending things together that people enjoyed themselves to.
