Ewes with single lambs on donedeal

Looking at adds on donedeal for sheep and lambs for sale and to me the majority seem to be a ewe and single lamb. Is there any reason for that? Do farmers sell sheep that have a history of only having one lamb? Or is it a case that if they are selling some sheep they will keep.a double outfit and sell a single?

I just looked it up, there seems to be a lot of hoggets, as in year olds, which would be likely to have singles anyway.
Well minded they're just as likely to have doubles next time as any ewe that's not from a really prolific breed

Might just be a case of cashing in on this years prices. Keeping twins in the hope prices stay up later in the year.

Personally, I’d prefer sell a single, as a double ewe would have a better chance of producing a double next year. In saying that sold 5 good doubles in early April at the mart.

Many guys sell Hoggs which would traditionally have a single anyway.
