    cannot wait for this!

Is Tony washed up? This will no doubt be an entertaning fight as both are rarely in a bad fight.

How good is oliveira? has looked great but tony is his biggest scalp, Lee before that and previous 6 were probably unranked.
I think Chandler puts him away myself.

barbosa burgos should be a great scrap

Is Souza past it? still can't believe holland beat hm tbh and he's joint favourite against a guy with only two ufc fights yet 18 months ago he lost a split to Jan

Think Chandler will get it done, could be a fast one again.
Don’t think Oliveira is on his level.

Not a card I’ll be staying up for, not worth the Sunday hangover of death :pac:
More a Sunday morning with a coffee card for me.

    Same

I can't do it anymore whether it's age or just that I'm fed up being knackered
    all day sunday

3am max for this lightweight :)

    Oliviera for main

Dariush for Co main for me.

Rest of card haven't really reviewed. Looking forward to it.

Maybe I just haven't seen enough of chandler but oliviera looked better in the last fights I saw (wasn't overly familiar with the competition).

Tony is a has been. Shell of a failed good run. After this would not be surprised to see him cut from the promotion.

Everything about Chandler reminds me of an inflated Chad Mendes. Even that stupid clapping thing he was doing at the presser and at last night's weigh ins.

Great KO and a good interview after. Thats all you need these days.

Hope (and think) Oliveira will sub him.

Dustin turned it down, Conor and Justin (soundly beaten by Khabib) are both coming off defeats, Hooker lost to Chandler.

Who else would you have fighting for it, or should it be left sitting vacant until after the winner of Dustin v Conor?

I agree and then you look at the rankings and realise there's nobody
    really more deserving.
I'll never understand why Dustin put money ahead of this though as I think
he had a good chance of beating Oliveira.

Then there's the likes of makhachev on a right streak who's fighting moises next after beating dober which is hardly a step up for him

You can't give it to Justin who in my opinion would beat the p1ss out of
oliveira and I think he'd take chandler too although would he really be
that undeserving fighting for the vacant belt?

I think it's just bad timing for Justin and unbelievably good timing for chandler in how its worked out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,831 ✭✭✭Eoinbmw

He beat Dan Hooker and now a title shot???
Khabib beat everyone so its pretty pointless using that as some kind of reason!
I agree Dustin completely sold out and no feckin way should Conor be in the converstation!
I honestly think Justin should be fighting instead of Chandler!
I hope Oliviera gets it done i dont think he has gotten enough credit for his recent run!

Even though he's coming off a loss I do think he's at least if not more deserving than chandler (but not by much) and I don't think anyone would object either but chandler is probably a bigger fight for the ufc and his past record might be a factor also and the ko of hooker really helped his case.

I'm desperate to see Oliveira win though I think chandler might put him away.

Chandler looks to be inunbelievable shape also but I guess that's to be expected

we both know that conor will only have to beat Dustin to get a shot at tonights winner also so there'll be more heartbreak for Justin whoever
    wins that one.

This is dariush's 8th year in the ufc and he's fought at least twice every year
and its his 20th ufc fight since 2014 which is more than oliveira, ferguson and the likes and only one less than miller and arlovski....maybe there's one or two others I can't think off who have fought more (cerrone tops that list in that timeframe)

I wasn't aware he has as many fights as some of these guys but he's a low profile kind of a guy.
I do love his nonchalant approach, reminds me of mousasi or gunni.

I'm hoping Tony gets the win. He could well be washed but I'm hoping that's not the case. Dariush is the kind fighter to trade with Tony and if it turns into a war Tony has the advantage.

Like many people I'm a bit surprised that the main event is for the title. Looking forward to it because I really don't know what to expect. Both fighters have weaknesses. I think whoever get their hand raised won't be keeping the belt long.

The Judge who scored 30-27 Grundy needs to be fired.

Judges in UFC events are atrocious.

I really hope Jacare calls it a day at 41

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,004 ✭✭✭FileNotFound

The sound of that break (or could it be a dislocate?) was bad.

The lack of reaction has me saying wtf!!!

    It's not his first rodeo.

Roger Gracie broke Jacare's arm in the finals of worlds in 2004.
Jacare escaped, continued and won the match.

    I'm aware, it's still insane.

I've shrugged off a broken nose, but noses are easily broken and often don't hurt.

An arm being snapped clean is a totally different thing.

    Man is a freak.

I assume people can sign up to ufc online and watch there.

Just noticed the full thing is free on bt tonight.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,902 ✭✭✭✭Mellor

Completely agree it's insane. I'm just pointing out (for anyone who didn't know) that he has snapped an arm and barely blinked before.

So theres no way to just give UFC.com your money and just watch the event?

    Streaming it is so.

I dunno bro, it's the weirdest KO I've ever seen.

Never seen anything like it before. But he didn’t move when he was getting struck in the head 2 or three times when he was on the ground.

Of the opinion Ferguson is done.

Guess he has a chance to prove that wrong, not overly familiar with Dariush

    Tony's knee is ****ed.

It's very sad to see Tony like this, he's a shadow of the fighter he was before covid.

And lots of people are going to overrate Dariush after this, just like they have Oliveira.

Dariush in the form he's in now would have posed the same problems for Tony at any stage of his career.

You are way overrating Dariush. He's not that good, he's facing an old man here who's done.

    Good win for Dariush.

    Dissapointing performance from Tony.

Wonder where he can go from here.
