Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Getting creamed at the breakdown. Need a change of tactics.

Don't think we've kicked long once.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,223 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

We're losing every contest at the breakdown now including those on our own ball. This is every bit as bad as last week's struggles against Munster.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,098 ✭✭✭UAEguy2020

Funny enough I was thinking this was a repeat of Ulsters 2nd half against Leicester minus the kick out on the full....and then.

    Big 3 minutes

The director cant influence what the TMO see's. The TMO has access to every screen and has a tech person beside them who will do everything regarding slowing down footage etc
The director cant stop the TMO from watching any angle

He can’t alright. But there is no harm having a partisan eye filtering and making their own replays

They're double tackling all of our carriers, we need to exploit the space that's leaving

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,750 ✭✭✭degsie

Leinster now leaving players isolated pretty much every time they are taken to ground.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,229 ✭✭✭A-Train

Leinster getting destroyed today. Cant get any foothold in the game.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,293 ✭✭✭Deusexmachina

Ah Christ, we look beaten. A very trigger happy ref isn’t helping.
I despair at the thought of even more deification of OGara from the Irish media. Just because he pauses before he speaks, they think he’s a genius.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,223 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

That was another poor kick from McGrath.

You'd have to guess that he'd be off now if JGP were fit.

    Could be game here.

This is all a result of being so wasteful in the La Rochelle half when we had our purple patch. La Rochelle were allowed get back on their feet and now they are throwing punches. Will take a miracle for Leinster to swing this momentum now.

I'm in and out of the room for this match doing other things. Every time I come in the ref seems to be giving a penalty for something. It's like the game has absolutely no flow so I'm missing nout

    Is this the about right?

Think the count is about 26 for the game

    Lucky he called no try.

We're on the ropes. This scrum will result in a try...

    Yay. 5m scrum

You can literally hear the TMO asking the director if they're all the angles they have.

All these pens and tmo reviews are allowing LAR to catch a breather which is working against Leinsters plan

Why wasn't the yellow card allowed back on??

Just a stay of execution based on how the game has gone.

    So utterly deflating.

We've had the same problem for the last three seasons where if the opposition can get parity or a slight advantage up front we fall apart.

And now a bigger issue now appears to have cropped up in that we've lost discipline at the ruck, an area we've prided ourselves in for years.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,750 ✭✭✭degsie

    Ah nuts

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,501 ✭✭✭swiwi_

Too long to change the forwards. Needed new front row at least at about 50 minutes. Leinster out on their feet.

    Big score

    That’s game

    That's game I think.

Such a disappointing second half, particularly after the way we started.

It is. The template to beat Leinster is clear if you have the personnel.

    That was coming. Massive score.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,018 ✭✭✭Bridge93

We’ve been dreadful since the 10th minute

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,175 ✭✭✭✭Sangre

Seems like that is game over. Leinster haven't fired a shot in about 50 minutes.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,825 ✭✭✭✭Eod100

Time yet for Leinster but needing 2 scores and momentum with LAR no easy task.

  • Hosted Moderators Posts: 8,140 ✭✭✭fitz

He was assist tackler and didn't release, no?

Edit: released, but hands on the ground. Soft.

The last 2 possessions have ended in holding on penalties. So frustrating

We've struggled a bit this season with the new breakdown interpretations, clearouts aren't fast enough

Rog always was world class at getting under the (thin) skin of leinster fans!
Great to see he hasn't lost it

Ref blowing after a microsecond in the breakdown...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,427 ✭✭✭KaneToad

Agree with Drico...hands on the ground first...

  • Registered Users Posts: 337 ✭✭normanbond

La Rochelle in control, looking good for them now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,506 ✭✭✭✭Exclamation Marc

Leinster looking so blunt. Which is even more disappointing after the opening ten minutes. Can't seem to string long plays together.

That's the new interpretation though, if you're on the ball legally as first man and still keep hands on it as you're cleared out it's your penalty.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,098 ✭✭✭UAEguy2020

And that’s the difference, if it was does reversed we would have concede another cheap penalty. We have been wasteful going forward and extremely ill disciplined defensively which is the standard tragic Irish performance that leads to a defeat.
