Any good ideas for a 40th birthday gift for a missus who never seems content with any present she receives? Trying to think of something that is a smart buy and will not end up being returned by her to store to be replaced by something else

You probably can't go wrong with a sex toy.

She is very unlikely to return it.

If she likes gardening I'd suggest a pampas plant.😂

If she's so fussy anything you buy is looked at in disdain buy her a burial plot. At least she will use it.

Didn't get to celebrate my 40th, so whatever she turns her nose up at I'll happily accept :-)

If serious- write her a poem... easier than you think and Google is your friend.

If she is materialistic, then a BT voucher

If this is a windup, then a sandwich maker

what has she returned in the past and why?

You could make a point of it and say to her you have noticed that most things you buy she dislikes and returns & say you’d like to give her a personal gift to mark the occasion & ask her want she’d like.

Them get it with some flowers & a card.

She sounds like hard work - does she not work and have her own money? Did nobody ever tell her its rude to discard a gift or turn her nose up at at a present???

Ot are you buying her tools and car parts every year & she has no arms and dosn’t own a car?

A divorce. It already has a 'return' built into it, so two birds with one stone.

If she's not content with gifts you buy her and put thought into, perhaps a folio of divorce papers would be the ideal 40th Birthday present, the ungrateful wench.

A pair of slippers and a dildo.

If she doesn’t like the slippers, she can go and fcuk herself.

If she is never happy with whatever present you got her, get her a voucher for a spa day and also buy a vibrator.

If she doesn't like the voucher, give her the vibrator and tell her to go **** herself.

Take her on a f***-off staycation when things open in June.
    Push the boat out.

Maybe buy her small gift to give her on the break.

    Didn't see that. Thanks.

OP vouchers would be the next best option.

Anything around the house she uses often and needs an upgrade?

My mum does a lot of baking and her mixer was having trouble so I bought her a newer version of it.
