Change blade on Flymo

This is a very basic question but DIY is not my strongpoint. I have a new blade for a small Flymo electric lawnmower but I cannot budge the nut to enable me to get the old one out. I have the correct size spanner and have used WD40 on the nut to try to loosen it. Any suggestions or name of someone in South Dublin area (Tallaght/Knocklyon preferably) who might free it for me?

Most lawn mower blades have a left hand thread so you need to be twisting it clockwise to loosen. Were you turning it correctly

This must be twisted anti clockwise per a youtube video on it.

    How long is the spanner?

You may need a breaker bar with a socket to undo the nut if its very tight. Any lawnmower repair facility should be able to do it for you, or even your local car mechanic will do it for you.
