Ah lord. This is a complicated one for me

My heart stopped getting that news alert on the mobile.

Loved giggsy as a player - one of our all time greats

number 11 on the wing he was some man

scored some unreal goals over the years.

He was one of the players I wanted to be

I was a decent player in the school ...

but hadn’t an arses roar of a chance of his god given talent

Sir Alec said giggsy would cause defenders to get twisted blood haha

But as much as I liked him as a player I have always felt ....hmmm how do I put this...

I guess just to go right ahead and say it

I always felt there was something not quite right about him personality wise.

    Something off

Especially all the different issues with women that he has had. A bad apple in the barrell as they say.

So just now I see He’s just issued a statement denying all the allegations

I’ll keep an eye on the case, he’s on his own for now but will watch the verdict with interest

Amazing how model a professional he was all those years.

    Still, charged isn't guilty

Great footballer, but a terrible person.

Ah god. This is a complicated one for me

It shouldn't be complicated for you. He is a prick. A talented prick, but still a prick.

I did read your post. You believe it is complicated for you because of his achievements.

It is not complicated. He is a prick.

You edited it in the first part after my post. As for the second part, when did you make this astounding observation that there as something not right with him? Was it before or after he started riding his sister-in-law?

    Everyone should wait awhile.
He’s not convicted of anything as yet.
Everyone is considered innocent until proven guilty.

While she was 6 months pregnant.

Absolute scumbag. I always wondered why he didn’t get more grief at the end of his career

    Did the marraiges break up?

Doesn't look good for him all the same.

Ryan Giggs has been charged with causing actual bodily harm to a woman in her 30s and common assault of a woman in her 20s. Both counts relate to an incident on the evening of Sunday 1 November 2020.
Giggs also been charged with count of coercive + controlling behaviour.

"Has been bailed + due to appear at Manchester and Salford Mags Court on 28 April. Police were called at 10.05pm on Sunday 1 November 2020 to reports of a disturbance. A woman in her 30s was treated for injuries at the scene."

Wales have confirmed he won't be their manager at Euro 2020.

  • Utd fan also. He's an absolute egotistical prick. That much was clear when he shagged his brothers missus for years.

Lowest of the low. For me that was enough to stain all his achievements.

Football wise. Good player but a tad overrated IMHO. Was lucky to play alongside a sensational squad.

    Good point.
What type of scumbag rides his brothers wife?
Bad enough he's doing the dirt on his misses but to do that to his brother?

That's a scumbag folks. You can't be a nice bloke and do that. So all this now isn't shocking.

    He was over rated anyway.

Worse again when ya consider he could take his pick of women pretty much but had to have the one he couldn’t have.

Is he? Depends on your view.

This is a criminal complaint. The other was voluntary and not.

Not condoning his previous behavior before I get stoned.

Why are there always so many controversies involving soccer players. Could it simply be because there are so many of them in comparsion to other sports. Or something about football that attracts these kinds of people.

He hasn’t been convicted but I’d imagine he will be . Either way it doesn’t change what he did to his brother

He’s an absolute cretin of a human

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,381 ✭✭✭Yurt2

Ryan Giggs has 'those eyes,' there's just a deadness to them. What he did to his brother with the wife suggests he's long been out of control and is a inveterate narcissist.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,693 ✭✭✭✭castletownman

They should strip him of the Players Player of the Year he won in 2009, which was essentially a lifetime achievement award, and give it to the rightful recipient, Nemanja Vidic.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,554 ✭✭✭valoren

Ryan Giggs is an asshole? Colour me shocked.

He rode his brother's wife. What was it Mary Angelou said? When someome tells you who they are, believe them. All the achievements and accolades aren't worth a jot because reputation trumps all.

Football club puts up state of wife beater outside their ground.

Same football club produces this human.

I'm in a state of shock here.

Jaysus people, what’s with the outlandish claims here, he only played for Man Utd so he wasnt that great of a player.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,761 ✭✭✭✭RobertKK

He obviously has a major character flaw when it comes to how he treats people in his life.
Maybe extreme narcissism leads to this, thinking he can get away with the stuff he does that hurts other people.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,367 ✭✭✭JimmyVik

    I hate the man.
But I just cant get with this internet conviction trend thats going on the last few years.
Either I see the evidence myself before i decide someone is guilty, or I wait for those who have seen and analyzed the evidence (the jury), to find him guilty or not.
After that im happy to go with their decision as they would definitely have seen a lot more of the evidence than the media shows me.

Sure, Eddie Halvey's light suspended sentence for killing a minor while drunk driving twice over the limit, was nothing to do with him having been an athlete either. There shouldn't be any hand wringing about Giggs doing a crime with any regard to whether he was a good athlete or not.

Between the undoubtedly true assault and his affair with his brother's pregnant wife, it's clear that Giggs was never that great a player and certainly a dreadful manager.

    Overrated.

She’s was a 21 year old girl ffs. A kid. Ryan Giggs.

    It’s his ****ing brother. Christ.

His brother is another gob****e imo.

10 years later and he’s still milking it.

She was not an innocent party. And she wasn’t 21 for the 8 years she was cheating on her husband with his brother.

A 21 year old is not for this purpose a child. They are a legally matured adult with all the rights and privileges. Their mothers etc may call them kids but calling someone that old one here in this context is a wild stretch imho.
