Was listening to the news there on Tuesday and 52 or so people called in. I havn't bothered with radio for many years but got myself a DMR handheld during the first lock down. Back in the day (early 2010s) I remember only very few people would call and the repeater would be empty most of the day.
If you use DMR check out BLUE DV for Windows and Get a DVMEGA DV Stick 30, the software is really great, no code plugs and easy access to DMR, Fusion and D-Star and the TX/RX audio quality is really good.
If you get the OPENSPOT 3 you can program your DMR handheld via the Openspot 3 special features to easily switch between D-Star, Fusion and DMR.
If you don't need the portability the the Blue DV software and DV MEga DVstick 30 is super cheap and so easy to use and you can connect it to an android tablet or phone via OTG cable. The Windows version is just great!
The Globe Trotter allows me to connect without dongle from anywhere in the World via my Android tablet, phone or Chromebook but you can't use the Globetrotter with 4G due to most of them now blocking ports, you'd need DSL, Fibre, cable etc. This is for the Globe Trotter end and a static IP but the DVStick 30 is pretty good too just sticks out of your laptop or computer.
