Is it just me or were the Bistro Occasions ridiculously priced at €2.30 a packet?

The packaging probably cost twice as much as the crisps.... :pac:

They're gluten free so always a premium price, posh taytos.

Also the weekly bargains are a great way of reaching the coupon threshold seeing as alcohol is no longer included

Small heads up on the Andrex €8 for 16 Rolls Pack offer.

Was in Dunnes a while ago today and there’s a 2 for €8 offer on the KittenSoft ‘Adorably Soft’ 9 packs.

Works out at two extra rolls for the same price even though Andrex is on the Weekly Wonders thing.

Storage comes into play when it’s that many rolls for many.

You wonder why they bother. It's the same spin of the wheel every week: soft drinks, Kellogg's cereals, toilet roll and detergent. It may be different sizes but it's the same products week in, week out.

FMCG - fast moving consumer goods. Has to be one of the most boring industries ever. The majority of consumers are brand loyal but nevertheless the manufacturers/retailers spend huge money tempting us away with "bargains". Then jack the prices. When demand dips there is another sale and so the cycle continues. Its great if you have a separate freezer and storage as you can buy in bulk. To increase revenues they buy up another established brand to add to the stable. Then look to slash costs/change recipes etc. Very little innovation in the products as margins are so tight. Its all a volume game.

Best advice I can give today is don’t buy that kitchen roll , fior di carta, got it once before and couldn’t wait to finish it. It’s absorbency is brutal, it’s tears like crepe paper and the perforation between sheets is terrible, literally rips anywhere it wants.

They often have barley malt extract added as a flavoring, or are made in the same factory as as one that does have that added.

Does anyone know if you use a €10 off €40 do you get another back or does it depend on the day it’s used?

I know you do with the €10 off €50.

If you use it in one of the stores that run the €5 off €25 spend offer, you'd get a €5 off €25 voucher back. Otherwise, you get nothing back (unless you bump your spend up to €50).

In Tralee I have not seen the €10 off €40 or the €5 off €25.
I think these must be random offers at some stores.

If you use €10 off €50 Thursday to Saturday you get another €10 off €50 and a very short dated €5 off €20 which must be used Sunday to Wedensday. If you are spending €100 break the transaction up into two to get two €5 off €20.

Since alcohol is off the list it’s very hard to get the spend up.

Toilet Paper and Branded breakfast cereals are really bad value in Dunnes generally.

Never ever believe the yellow prices, they are often poor value.

Most crisps on the market have gluten in them. The threshold for gluten free is very low, it must be below 20 parts per million gluten to be safe for coeliacs to consume. The gluten is either added through the flavourings used or is present due to cross contamination in the factory. It's generally only premium brands (Keoghs, Bistro, O Donnells, Burts etc) that are gluten free.
