Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

From what's gone ahead so far, I would definitely be of the opinion that most of the music I liked in the 80s did not make it to number one. :pac:
Yeah probably me too. I was more of a shoe gazer. Cure, Smiths, The The etc.
But now that I'm older I appreciate the cheese for the happy boppy tunes they were

I think the majority of my favourite 80s tunes did not get a sniff at Number One in either the UK or Ireland. There are some honourable exceptions of course! 0 -

Some Cure. Definitely The Smiths and The The. Loved (still do) New Order. Some random acts from the 80s (with an eye on the charts): Lloyd Cole & The Commotions, Suzanne Vega, Frankie goes To Hollywood (some of their stuff anyway), Imagination, The Cult, The Mission and ....wait for it: Johnny Hates Jazz!0 -

yes to all of them with the exception of suzanne vega i think. also I'll add Depeche mode, echo and the bunnymen... the list goes on... ah brings me back to that disco that was on in the place at the top of Parnell Square? Name escapes me. Friday night was indie night. Sorry i digress

Depeche Mode for sure and, like New Order, I did not stop at the 1980s. Echo & The Bunnymen had a few gems too.0 -
