Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    They're around the one age.

Irrelevant. Just a thing he is saying to be popular amongst the Irish voting base. Maybe he genuinely is, but who cares? I'm sick of him being portrayed like a good guy. He has launched air-strikes on Syria already

Damien Dempsey Who Do you think you are, was gas.

Damien that fear gaelach. All the stuff he goes on with. They couldn't trace the Dempsey's, by the way on the show.

Now it's common knowledge they are one of the 7 clans of Laois and together with the English, slaughtered the leaders of the other clans at Mullaghmast, on New Year's Day 1577.

That wouldn't sort Damien's narrative so all these genealogists hadn't a clue of the Dempsey history!

Anyone else notice the phantom guitar backing on the last house band tune? No sigh of any in the house band...

This man in the Tesco ad with a tape of his dead Mother shouting at him while he is cooking, that's not weird at all.

Call me a philistine....I fcuking hate poetry.

I can't abide it. Sometimes I accidentally tune into RTE Radio 1 arts show, and you have middle class ppl reading poetry in that utterly annoying way they do it.

Last time, some guy was reading poetry, and later went on to talk about about the smell of his leather school bag and his mom in his childhood. That the poetry conjured up all these memories I suppose he meant.

Yea, like so what. Utterly pretentious rubbish.

Brendan Gleeson in the Treaty, 1991, was excellent as Collins. Will be on for the centenary in December hopefully.

    Think it's on YouTube too.

She was a very good speaker and if I'm remembering right she wasn't a-woe-is-me at all.

Brendan came on a few years ago and launched a tirade about the state of the Health Service here

it was intense and very well made, but I never heard him talk about it again.

Well, on Reeling in the Years 1977 earlier, a clip of the Late Late had Peter Ustinov and Fred Astaire as guests. I'd be absolutely glued to both those fellas.

I'm not saying Gay Byrne had superstars on every week, but overall it strove for more depth, more content, less whimsical bullsh1t.
