I know there have been a few threads about this and I would love to hear from people who have recently made the move to get some advice. So family of 5 moving in a few months but due to lockdown haven’t been able to view any houses, looking at new houses out towards farmhill manor area or in village close to town, as ideally would like to be just outside the town but not too rural. One boy of secondary school age and 2 girls in primary school. Would love some suggestions and any helpful advice.

Community, good schools, insider knowledge on housing... am open to take advice on all of above. Thank you

    Folks,

Sorry been busy so missed some comments. As an update we did move end of June to just outside Grange in north Sligo. Two younger kids at local school in Grange and older boy at Summerhill.

We would have rented if we could have found somewhere decent to rent for family of five as had absolute nightmare finding somewhere to live. Decent houses in short supply and we ended up in bidding war.

Feels like the right decision. Very welcoming local community in Grange and the lifestyle change is immediate and so rewarding.

Not surprised the OP could find nowhere to rent as the rental market has ceased to function in town at least, currently there are zero properties to rent in Sligo on daft.ie, must be some kind of record.
