Such an increase in one area on a highly tailored benchmark does not necessarily mean the same across the board though in a fully operational game where other bottlenecks exist. Any increase is a plus but I'd take the performance estimates for realworld with a big grain of salt. Besides if you did have a tech that increased performance like this we would build games that ate it up pretty quickly, resolution would increase quickly for dispplay, textures etc., increasing processing load inline. Other effects deemed to performance heavy for the visual impact before would be introduced. Ray tracing is a good example, it's old tech at this stage but is only now becoming a real-time gaming feature due to improved processing abilities, and it tanks even top end cards without other techs like DLSS in there. Software will always expand to use the available resources and demand more.
