I think it's standard on all airlines now and has been for a while. I've been asked about batteries and power banks on all the flights in the past year at least

Aer Lingus still selling them onboard last time I flew with them in October.

  • Hosted Moderators Posts: 10,036 ✭✭✭✭mik_da_man

Yeah, they are allowed as carry on, but not in checked in bags

I’m delaying buying a few things as I presume the Spring Sale will be announced any day now:

    www.aboutamazon.co.uk/news/retail/amazon-spring-deal-days-

I thought it was February last year but was actually 20-25 March, a Wednesday to a Monday.

I’ve noticed some prices have jumped so presume it’s imminent.

I've got a few cheap items I was going to buy but found them less than half the price (exact same item same description same pictures) on T E M U. If its a cheap(ish) chinese item check out that other site as there is no point paying extra for the chinese tat - but I still keep buying it ;-)

Wake me up when it's all over.

Yeh I figured that out a while back. You’re paying Amazon for the quick delivery but if you can wait for a few Easter decorations they’ll be a quarter of the price on Temu.

The last 4 orders I placed all suggested next or second day delivery. I have prime. One order got lost and got refund, 3 orders were late, two I am waiting for over a week now.. there seems to be some logistical issue.. is it just me ?

I've been getting my orders quicker than ever (always an post). Ordered something at 5 last thursday, had it next morning.

Thats a good nvme drive for the money.

Looked at some reviews and its good for ps5. I bought a slower fanxiang 1tb over a year ago and its been great in my console. Pair with a low profile heat sink so that it fits ps5. E.g. https://amzn.eu/d/53MGYIT

Just discovered a tool built into the Amazon Fire TV / Sticks that can remove the lag when using Bluetooth Blueooth audio.

Go to Settings - Display & Sounds - Audio - AV Sync Tuning..

and you will see this screen:

    maxresdefault.jpg

When the blue ball drops on the horizontal line you should hear a tone instantly. A big blue circle circle will appear on the left also and should should only be visible for the the duration of the beep. Moving the small orange circle at the bottom of the screen to the right of the mall white arrow pointing up should get rid of the audio latency / lag.

I noticed that the white arrow is further over to the right on my fire TV Stick than on the pic above, which I pulled from Google.

I have a few of their flashlights and a lantern also and highly recommend them. They have a Facebook group thats worth joining for getting discount codes too.

Wowtac make great flashlights too. I have the A1S and the A2S. Thinking about the A5 which is a big step up. Have the others 5 or 6 years now.Very well regarded and sturdy, waterproof etc.

About time! Only problem now is that our prime membership is only valid for Amazon.co.uk.

I wonder if customer service can port our prime membership over to Amazon.ie?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,365 ✭✭✭jj880

Think I'll do a bit of comparing prices first for next few bargains.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,462 ✭✭✭SourSessions

The stock is very limited still. Seems like a lot of Amazon DE products just ported over. I wouldn't be giving up my .co.uk prime yet

They are showing a deal to switch on the front page - get your current month UK refunded and a full month free with IE. Link is dead though at the moment.

One item a paint sprayer I can get on UK site is 33 pound with a voucher 50% tick box delivery 19th march, same on the IE site is €80 delivery 24th march. Definitely Still worth checking both

On the other hand I can now purchase a replacement Dyson battery on the IE site whereas the UK would never deliver.

No Household Prime and doesn't appear to be student prime available on .ie (but it's cheaper than .co.uk, to lure us in anyway, I'm sure it will rise appropriately)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 744 ✭✭✭Dan Steely

I'd guess moving prime over will be voluntary at first then mandatory.

My cat bed is €44.34 on the Irish site and £16.59 on the UK one. Both are dispatched from amazon.co.uk. I'm really hoping they keep the option for free delivery from the UK site, especially for Subscribe & Save.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 540 ✭✭✭Enrico Palazzo

That would be my hope too, but realistically I expect them to remove UK prime and free delivery for us in order to boost sales on the Irish site.

BTW, it appears that the delivery fee for orders under €25 is €3.99 flat, so not bad, at least for now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,838 ✭✭✭Toast

No food or drink. Really limited battery bank options. I think they were the whole reason we wanted this, right?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,828 ✭✭✭sunbeam

I bought a spin dryer from them last year. Now £143.38 on the UK site and €256.15 on the Irish one, both sold by amazon.co.uk.

I can't even find most of the things I buy on subscribe and save yet, but of they are going to hike the prices up like this there won't be much point in buying them from Amazon any more if there are any other options.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 540 ✭✭✭Enrico Palazzo

No free returns of clothing and shoes sold by amazon.ie or so it would seem.

That being said amazon.ie return costs

Not looking great TBH. I think we expected as much so no surprise.

I had a few items in basket and they are pretty much same price on .ie as they were on UK and some .de items coming up in search for cosmetics that were more expensive on .co.uk.

Prime is much cheaper and get a month back and my UK prime is up at end of month so have switched for the offer anyway. And the 10€ off 50€ first order. Will see how it goes.
