Desktop with intel core i3 or i5

    Just found out that I will be taking my upcoming exams remotely. I need to get a new desktop as my current laptop will not cut it but I am clueless with all this.

    I've been looking online and its mainly intel core i3 that seem to be falling into my budget (under €500), I was hoping for i5 but really I dont even know if there's a massive difference.

    Is it work paying over a bit extra for something with i5?
