Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Thought he'd died of starvation in the great "pear & prosciutto" famine of 2019

I have zero interest in football, but if I had any, I would support an African team - either Botswana Meat Commission Football Club, Plateau United Feeders or Police Machine FC.

Anyone do a fantasy team for this year's 6 nation's? just after putting the finishing touches to mine, should make the two Saturday games a more interesting watch for me.

    Here's my own.

Few thoughts: I went the route of maximising kickers. Jailbert, Halfpenny and Farrell. My captain is getting double points so I am going to pick someone who is playing against Italy. Hard to pick forwards. I was trying to go for players who go through as many tackles as possible. I was working off memory but that's why I went for VDF, James Ryan and Jonny Gray. It's a bit of a lottery picking try scorers but Jonny May has been on fire. I went for the relatively cheap French winger playing against Italy too. Ideally I'd have another French winger but I thought Jailbert and Dupoint were essential and the price of Thomas was too much.

Seriously? Nearly a million people watch each 6N game. There are 50000 tickets available. Do the maths.

Am going to do up a team....was I reading the 'rules' wrong or is the case that with your 3 subs you pick.... firstly you identify one as your 'supersub'....if one 'supersub' comes on off the bench he doubles his points....(so it would make sense to pick a good sub that isnt starting that rounds game for eg Ford for England.

And my reading of the rules are your other two subs only get half their points if they come on.....so you are better picking cheap lads from likes of Italy?

Thanks for any thoughts on whether I am interpreting rules correctly or not.

Rugby just doesn't lend itself to these kind of fantasy games.

If there was a fantasy game that took points from Opta stats or similar it might be decent.

No points for turnovers is a bit of a shame.

Whats happened with Penaud? Was excellent in 2019. Can't remember when I last saw him. Has he been injured or out of favour with France?

Therugbymag fantasy stuff is decent. I'm doing a 6N one and a premiership one. The prem one has a salary cap and all which is fun.

Obviously very different atmosphere to it all this year, but silver linings; working from home so I'll get to see everything, and hear everything. :pac: Some say you'd miss the afternoon fry, tea, papers, then pints, matches, laughs, more pints, but.... Yeah.... Damn.

Here’s mine - first time considering subs for the games. Ollivon, DuPont and Jalibert seem to be the obv choices for this week.

    Who's kicking for France?

Not entirely sure how superbru scores etc but the team I've gone for:

    YiPuaut.png

Was going to have Jalibert as my kicker and ten, may change back before kick off. I presume he will kick but iirc Dulin is a decent kicker?

Have edited Williams in instead of Zanon.

On the balance of probability and form I think England, France and Ireland should all win by margins greater than 7 - 10.

Wales have 7 wins out of 10 under Pivac, have some key suspensions and the regions are in the worst state I've ever seen them. Ireland haven't been brilliant but we've both a strong starting team and a particularly strong bench to throw at them and that will tell on the scoreboard I think. With the exception of Porter most of the Irish players I've picked I suspect will do the 80. POM might come off for Connors but he'll have emptied the tank by then.

England haven't featured as much because some of the key players have little rugby under their belts and whilst I think they'll turn Scotland over I'm not sure how clinical they will be. If I knew for certain that Jalibert was kicking I'd drop Farrell.

I expect France to come out of the blocks hard against Italy. Italy are playing some nice attacking rugby but their defence is poor. I think both teams will run in a few score but I could see France cutting loose a bit.

I don't know how superbru scores so chances are some of my picks are naive.

Superbru scores everything. From trys, try assists, if forwards win 90% of their lineouts, ball carrying and metres gained. loads more as well
