I know that I am very much in the minority, but I never took to Billy Connelly at all. Find him completely overrated.

Although I did enjoy his travel shows on TV.

Subjective as previous posters have said

But any of the Ricky Gervais stand up shows for me. They were just class.

Three pages an no women mentioned

I generally watch my comedy live rather than in specials, but always liked Maeve Higgins and Deirdre O'Kane. Alison Spittle makes a show of herself is laugh out loud funny.

The only woman who could hold her head high amongst the very best comedians is the late Joan Rivers...
I've seen Higgins and O'Kane live and not impressed., would change channel if Spittle was on

Don't have specific shows in mind but the following would be my go-to for comedy.

    Chris Rock
    Lee Evans
    Dylan Moran
    Billy Connolly
    Eddie Murphy
    Mickey Flannagan
    Richard Pryor

    Hannah Gadsby’s ‘Nanette’.

Sometimes “comedy” is more than just laughter and jokes. Sometimes it should serve a higher purpose.

Louis CK "Oh My God" is amazing and his knew one "Sincerely" where he confronts his #metoo thing is brilliant too. For me no one holds a candle to him when it comes to stand up.

I thought he was great the first couple of times but then his shows just seemed to be the audience screaming at him the whole time and it was unwatchable

Was at that gig too. Seats right up the front, which I only realised when I was shown to my seat, the wife wasn't impressed. He took the piss out of a few at the front, slowly working his way down to my side. He asks the guy beside me what he does for a living, the guy says he works in special effects. Frankie asks has he worked on anything he'd know about, guy says yeah I worked on avatar. After a few questions it becomes obvious the guy didn't work on avatar or special effects, eventually admitting he works on computer games. Again Frankie asks "anything i'd know?" . Guy says yeah I worked on Colin McCrae Rally. Frankie says " Hang on, they're still making a driving game about a guy who crashed a helicopter and killed everyone ?" . Brutal but very funny.

He's very funny but not for the faint hearted. Told some brilliant ones about the McCann's for example.

My all time favourite is from Billy Connolly called Dinner at the Posh House. Really brilliant and highly recommended. Spawned so many jokes between mates
