    Are you Troy Barnes?

Troy never wanted to meet LeVar in person... He just wanted a signed picture... at least originally anyway...

    giphy.gif

I actually think my pitch to LeVar happened a bit before his first appearance on Community, because Community was my favourite show at the time, and I was already a big LeVar Burton fan (I've always pictured a fictionalised version of LeVar as the good conscience in my head when I'm having conversations with myself. Eliza Dushku is my bad conscience. I don't know if that's a normal thing people do or I'm just weird, and it's only every now and again), and then one of my heroes, who I had recenetly been talking to on the phone about doing a TV Show, only goes and shows up on my favourite TV show. That was a wild time for me.

I just looked it up on google* and I actually did watch one episode of it a few months ago. The Mescal guy rings a bell. It didn't stick in my mind at all though and I didn't go back for more so it can't have been that good. I didn't realise it was a book aswell.

It is worth watching more of?

    * my answer (guess) was already submitted at 10am this morning which GNR can verify so I didn't cheat

I really liked it when I watched it. And each episode is only half an hour, so easy to watch one when you have a bit of time spare.

I mean, I never watched it, but I don't think LeVar Burton had any involvement in 50 Ways To Kill Your Mammy...

Was Levar Burton one of the iterations of Kunta Kintay in Roots?

True, but the idea of a normal person doing mad stuff accompanied by a celeb reminded me of Baz and his ma. Although now I think of it, calling Baz a celeb might be pushing it a bit.

That's the first time it's even been implied that I'm in any way normal... :D

I wouldn't even refer to myself as normal... :pac:

    2. I once pitched a reality comedy show to the actual LeVar Burton where he would accompany me on adventures where I crossed things off a bucket list, and the show would've been called Also Starring LeVar Burton. He really liked the idea, but nothing ever came of it in the end obviously... but it was about that time (in or around 2010/2011) I changed my boards username when they appointed me a Mod of the Television Forum, and Also Starring LeVar Burton suited being a Mod better than my original username... What a claim to fame!!! How the frack did you even get in contact with Levar's people to arrange such a call? I'm very impressed.

Sure that's nothing, I've been out drinking all night with Adam Sandler, Kevin James, David Spade and all them lads, played pranks in a hotel room with Seth Rogen and James Franco, got absolutely pissed and danced up a storm with Andrea Corr, done shots with plenty of people who've appeared in Eurovision from a variety of Countries, did magic with the lad who played Seamus Finnegan from Harry Potter at a nightclub opening, and made and served popcorn and drinks for Michael Jackson and his kids once at a King Kong screening...

And they're only a few of my many escapades over the years...

Although if it is allowed, I'm in a WhatsApp group with Sally Rooney, so I could just ask her, right?

Spouses count as friends in this scenario, even if you actually hate each other in reality... whoever you like or dislike in your own time is your own business... ;)
    is your boss a friend?

I'm kind of my own boss, so yeah, I mean I'm pretty a cool person, I'd have a few drinks with myself... In these pandemic times, that's mostly the way it goes...

I tell a lie. I do know the guy from the show is dating Phoebe Bridgers and I am very jealous!
Eliza Dushku is my bad conscience
Hmm interesting.....don't know if this is good or bad for me

She's my bad conscience because of Faith Lehane (her Buffy-verse character) who is a bad ass and I love that character.

I don't know whether its good or bad for you yet either, because I'm going in blind to the thing you're referring to, so we'll have to wait and see... ;)
