Hap question

How Soon Is Now

Good morning!

Is it possible to receive Hap renting a place that hasn't been previously rented?
Also what is the official stance on Hap with family members I have heard you cant receive it when renting from say your Mother or Father but otherwise I'm not sure how It works with other family.

Basically I am just looking into everything as I've been told so many different things from the council and citizens advice. Want a have a better idea going into the new year!

sorry to jump on this thread but i was wondering can i ask you about the HAP? if you have been approved is it off your gross or net income? I was refused yesterday due to being over thershold off gross income?

I actually didn't get approved myself due to an issue with the place not being previously rented. I'm not sure how it would work in your situation but you could always try giving Citizens Advice a ring. I found them really good for asking without any judgement or official bullshit.

thank you very much i will contact them. I was told my gross income was over the limit but anywhere i seacrh or google info it tells me they base it off net income. I will contact them.

Good luck! I find with a lot of these services finding answers to your questions is a challenge at times.
