I think we've largely gotten to the right decisions one way or another but my God i can't stand French refs.

Still don't think theirs was a clearcut PT

That's what Ulster get for not closing the game out like they should.

The referee was grand. The reality is, Ulster had Gloucester dead and buried with a minute to go, but gifted them an Avenue back in with a knock on and a penalty. That's what separates champion teams from the rest.

Just over a minute to go in the Gloucester half, all Ulster have to do is keep it tight but nah. You can see tonight the advantage of actually practicing line outs in training, hopefully Ulster take that lesson from Europe.

The European Cup is a bit of a mess this year anyway

Harsh lesson for McIlroy, but had he not given away the penalty try, it was a 50/50 side-line conversion, and an extra man to defend at the end.

In the heat of the moment, in a European game, nobody is going to go through that thought process with a millisecond to make the decision. Let's not look for people to blame. Ulster as a team need to take it on the chin and build. Blaming youngsters for stuff like that isnt gonna help anyone.

Not much he could do there, ball was pretty much passed at him! Can hardly blame him.

Lack of quality replacements killed us, props playing 80 mins

Why was there so little game management from 10? Is that the plan? Almost all 9.

    Does there have to be?
Play off 9 more as strengths are better suited to team?

    No.

But a few people giving out about poor game management from Cooney in last few minutes. 10 gets a pass.

Must be frustrating being an Ulster fan. They're consistently the most brain dead Irish team. No composure whatsoever. Hold the ball for two maybe three phases at the end and they win the game. Nope, bullet pass at one of the forwards and he knocks it on.
