Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Jaysus, the lack of masks at an indoor event is nuts !!!!

How cringey is this sky love in, like shut the **** up Joshua . I hope he gets battered

More people with their heads stuck in their phones than in a mask.

Can someone please PM me a stream for the fight?
    TIA.

I've been listening to the DAZN commentary......it's brutal tbh.
However as mentioned it's a choice between that and Sky's cheerleading of Matchroom fighters.

No matter which commentary you've been listening to, I think it's a must to avoid Sky for the main event. ''Lift off for AJ !!!!!'', and claims he's the greatest Heavyweight of all time will be the calls after he destroys a shot Pulev.

Joshua looks good, looks calm and confident.

My 50 euro hangs in the balance :-(

Jesus they need to shorten this introduction/walkout nonsense in boxing. Takes far too long, even had a slow motion highlight of AJ walking down the ramp that just happened a few seconds earlier. Embarrassing stuff really.

The first min has been like synchronised dancing

Hope he boxes him in the belly .

He won the round, realised towards the end of it how easy it is to hit Pulev.

    Joshua never looks comfortable

don't think so, I give him the first round. He certainly does look a bit adverse to being hit though. Keeping it well at distance. But if Pulev can't get near him it doesn't matter how good/bad AJ's chin is.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,617 ✭✭✭lawrencesummers

    Jab working well for AJ

Pulev is going for the same left hook that White and Ruiz got him with!

I'm watching a stream so behind

Hes still such a **** boxer though, he's absolutely there for the taking. Pulev is a tomato can

No doubt he will win this but ...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,942 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Joshua well on top, I think he can finish it anytime he wants.

  • Registered Users Posts: 223 ✭✭One_More_Mile

Joshua looks a lot more averse to taking a shot since the 1st Ruiz fight. He could blow this guy away if he went for it
    Edit spoke too soon

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,933 ✭✭✭Blanco100

    Joshua doesn't like to fight.

Looks like he is being re modelled as a HW who tries to use his physical advantage to control the distance.

won't be as exciting but more effective.

    Pulev is done

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,617 ✭✭✭lawrencesummers

Joshua saw the left from Pulev a long way out and hammered him.

    Game set match.

No spring left in the legs of Pulev, one good shot finishes it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,933 ✭✭✭Blanco100

HW boxing is always different. obviously the only weight class with regular weight/ dimensions differences.

AJ should blow Pulev away but a fight like this doesn't prepare you for a Fury, even a Wilder fight where your reach and height advantage is negated.

With his physical advantages AJ should be winning on points behind his jab by default.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,617 ✭✭✭lawrencesummers

Jab away and waiting for pulev to throw the left hook, then counter.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,415 ✭✭✭generalgerry

Exciting stuff. Fair play to Pulev for staying in there and fighting for my fifty quid his pride.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 56,628 ✭✭✭✭walshb

The longer AJ allows Pulev to be in this the riskier this is.

AJ needs to press home now and take Pulev out.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,933 ✭✭✭Blanco100

Hearn has had to beef up his match making staff since Ruiz 1 I believe. Some of his matchmakers were green.

Boxing must be the one sport where the standard drops ever decade rather than improves like other sports.

Pulev will gas the longer this goes, Joshua should use this to get some rounds, try some things out

These DAZN commentators haven’t a clue!!

Amen to that. The gifted big men in the US are not boxing anymore.

I don't think that AJ would be still standing if he took the punches that Pulev took.

AJ well ahead, but I wonder is he getting flashbacks of Ruiz - "I had him pretty much finished but he's still there"

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,409 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

Pulex jabbed so many times he's now immune to covid

AJ is looking very nervous and vulnerable here.

In fairness Ruiz had some variety and handspeed (and a love of cheeseburgers unfortunately)

    Pulev has a great chin

He doesn't really and he doesn't hit that hard himself either

The ref is going to have to take a point for these back of the head punches soon

    Vulnerable?

    No.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,933 ✭✭✭Blanco100

you need to make Joshua work every round. Test his engine. He takes the odd round off and then explodes into energy again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 56,628 ✭✭✭✭walshb

AJ will be a few points up, no doubt, but needs to be careful here..Pulev is in the rounds, and dangerous.

    68-65 after 7

    Vulnerable?

    No.

    Yes.
He looks vulnerable and nervous, both of his chin and gas tank.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,942 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

I think it's over in this round.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,409 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

Pulev should have gambled on a 4 round fight. Try to finish it and be out of steam in 4. He can't win over distance against Joshua

You know when sky are praising the opponent they are just building Joshua's profile.

He's making hard work of this in fairness.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,617 ✭✭✭lawrencesummers

After the third the temptation for Joshua must have been to go for it in the fourth but he didn’t and stuck to the plan. Reckon we will see him up the pace soon and try and finish it now that pulev is fading.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,617 ✭✭✭lawrencesummers

    Yes.
He looks vulnerable and nervous, both of his chin and gas tank.

I don’t see any indication of either tbh.

Not impressed by AJ here at all, plus he looks nervous of Pulev who has little power.
