Using messenger lite as default facebook messenger app

I've installed facebook messenger lite from the play store and i'm using it instead of facebook messenger.

My problem is that when i click a messenger link on facebook it still trys to open the uninstalled messenger app.

How do i make it open the lite app?

Messenger Lite doesn't seem to be able to set defaults, this annoys me too.

I sent them a message about it, hope they do it.
