just great to have Joe back

Casual fan here apologies for looking to make a knowledge withdrawal without contributing myself.

Are any of the next few fights expected to be good stand up scraps based on the fighters profiles? Not in the mood for watching a grappling match but a good brawl always entertains.

    Cheers

I'd say 3 of the next 4 fight will have very little grappling

That first fight was a cracker.

There's some hype behind buckley now, would be some craic if he didn't win tonight and it looks a possibility

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,455 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

I like Gooden in the next one. I've seen a few of his fights, very good hands and very good on the ground. Jouban is getting on and has been off a long time.

They're swinging for the fences here. Great fun.

what a fight! Gooden trying to beat jouban with his face

    still up for grabs though

    WHAT A FIGHT

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,649 ✭✭✭Whelo79

I thought that was round 3. Delighted there's one more left in this!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,961 ✭✭✭✭mailburner

If that isn't fight of the night....

How tough is Gooden though, my god he took everything Jouban threw at him

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,964 ✭✭✭Podge2k7

    Great fight there

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,455 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Great fight, kudos to Jouban to have that cardio at 38 years of age after being off for so long.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,751 ✭✭✭ASOT

Unlucky not to get the finish there I thought he was tapping at the end there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,649 ✭✭✭Whelo79

I forget this was a numbered event. Maybe a separate thread should be set up for it? I'm done for the night anyway, will catch the rest tomorrow.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,751 ✭✭✭ASOT

Don't think anyone was arsed setting one up I'll do it now

was thinking of doing same but I completely forgot it was numbered event

easy see why Dalby has never been finished, rod is one dangerous guy

Two very underwhelming title fights, don't think I have ever seen maia fight.

    Can't warm to Figueiredo either.

Been a class card so far though. May need to sleep soon I'm an hour ahead of you guys and already feeling tired, struggling to stay up these days.

There'll be an awful lot of fighters deserving bonuses by the looks of things

I'd imagine rod did enough but you just never know these days

That was ridiculous. I couldn't really argue with 29-28 either way but 30-27 was ridiculous.

That round should never have happened.

Yes... He was clearly circling when on the stool. Coach should have stopped it.

    Buckley is just a beast.
You can tell that Wright is decent and can still have a good career but Buckley is just unstoppable at the minute.
It'll get to the stage soon that ranked fighters will try and avoid him.

He has so much power. Very dangerous fighter to go up against.

Brilliant show from Moreno, so smart.

Prelims have been great, lets hope the main card follows suit.

Am I missing something here? Craig is 8/15 to win and 13/5 to win via submission. All his victories are subs.. Seems like value?

EDIT: I know they drew last time, but if we're thinking he'll win the sub is extra juice

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,964 ✭✭✭Podge2k7

    War Shogun!

Is Shevshenko the biggest favorite in UFC title fight history? I can't think of any other title fight so 1 sided,.

Ah, so that's how I lose!

I wish shogun would retire, still has power but so slow besides and will probably fight until he's cut and then fight elsewhere sadly

first ufc tko win for craig

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,964 ✭✭✭Podge2k7

Sad to watch. Hopefully Shogun retires.

Boylesports unfortunately doesn't see it that way.. I didn't see a tap there.

He definitely tapped. I see some are saying its a tko victory and others a sub. I thought him tapping made it a sub. I remember I had Rockhold backed via tko over Branch when they fought and Branch tapped to strikes and it went down as a submission victory and my bet didnt come through

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,481 ✭✭✭Still Ill

Oh, you better believe I'm onto Boyles support about this! Thanks for the info!
