Has anyone tried RE7 with PSVR+PS4 Pro, and then PSVR+PS5? I'm wondering if there's any difference. I loved playing it in VR, but there was pretty extreme foveated rendering.

Experiencing some very nasty stick drift with the PS5 controller. This is probably the quickest any PS controller has developed it and I'm sick of it at this point. 😡 Gone through so many controllers because of stick drift. I only ever had to change my xbox controller once and that was because it simply stopped working after having it for years. Thank goodness I have my PS4 controller as a backup but not keen on going through the palava of getting the PS5 one fixed/replaced.

Oddly enough, when playing Ghost Recon Breakpoint I don't experience it at all but I think Far Cry 3 has a more sensitive input response so Jason is twirling all over the place.

I had the original one with no issues until I traded it in for the black one when it came out, no issues with it. And I play for about 40+ hours a week. Sounds like you've had a bad run of controllers! Or whatever games you're playing require heavy pressing... I notice I'm a bit harder on the controller in FPS and sport/racing games.

The X button on one of my launch day DualSense is starting to stick a little. I bought two and rotate them hoping this wouldn’t happen.

I haven't tried it on PS5, but due to the nature of that game the only likely difference is that it would stick closer to the target frame rate. IIRC it kept pretty close as-was so there probably wouldn't be much of a noticeable difference aside from maybe load times.

I still prefer the overall software to that of the PS4 but there's some things about Playstation hardware, particularly the PS5 that is really starting to get on my nerves, and I probably notice it more now because I'm travelling. I've already mentioned the stick drift issue which Sony will never ever, ever resolve at this point but why oh why is the console shaped in such a way that it requires a stand??? The PS4 is FLAT, compact, easy to move and clean. Same with my X box 360. Even the X Box series X is better shaped and that looks like a fridge! They made the PS5 bulky and oddly shaped for no good reason. It sucks!!! And the stand is rubbish. It always snaps off and it's been like that from day one because no stand could feasibly work with a console so contorted like this.

I have never seen someone complain about something so much in all my life.

I set up my console last January laying flat and haven't needed to move it, the stand does exactly what it's meant to do.

Maybe gaming just isn't for you. If I have something in my life that only annoys me, I stop doing it.

eww what a way to admit you don't clean your console.

It's in the exact same condition it was in when I put it into the unit. It gets dusted when the tv and the unit get dusted. It doesn't need to be moved for that.

The Playstation 5 is the worst shaped console out of those I've owned. It's extremely extra and impractical. And ugly too! Would it have killed Sony to use black panels from the start? Why should consumers have to seek out non official ones? Sony should learn from Microsoft in terms of how to make large but practical consoles. They already copied Microsoft's controller so they should take the extra step to make a console that doesn't look like someone wearing a coat from the 1980s!!!

I had awful luck with mine. First two controllers were both duds. To be fair to Playstation, they repaired/ replaced them for me pretty quickly, and without too much fuss.

eww what a way to admit you don't know how to dust properly. The bottom needs to be cleaned too.

Mod note: Enough of the bickering please, it’s very tedious to read.

45 minutes on hold to Sony and couldn't even get through to the department to report my controller drift, that's how broken Playstation accessories are. 😡 Might have to report it online if there's a facility but would rather not.

Anyone getting an error when trying to buy discounted PS Plus? I'm getting an error on the app and the console itself.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,587 ✭✭✭✭Potential-Monke

The stick drift is a global thing, no platform is exempt it. It's whatever parts they're using, combined with the unnecessary but unavoidable pressing as hard as possible during certain sections. But I've been lucky that I've only ever experienced it on one controller, a PS4 one, after a few years of use. Every PS1, PS2, PS3 and now 5 controller has been good. Must just be very lucky. Saying that, I definitely broke a few PS1/2 controllers by hopping them off the old crt tvs!

Older controllers used to use metal bits in the thumbsticks and those are made out of plastic now.

Go online, go through the steps of reporting the problem with the controller - there's a couple of questions related to the problem you're experiencing to answer. Get the code at the end. Email the code along with your issue and serial number on the back of the controller (usually starts with G with a 16 digit number iirc) to support@ie.playstation.com.

You'll get sorted out with a return label and steps to get it sorted within a day or two. Much handier than trying to get through on the phone.

Just got the SSD installed and being picked up okay anyway. Speed seemed to be just under 6000MB/s.

And just because I was reminded of this song for obvious reasons, I'll post it

Young lad looking for a new headset.

    He has a ps4 but getting a ps5.

Would you advise getting the official Sony wireless headset, or could a third party wired one do just as well? Does it have any issues using up USB ports or anything like that?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,592 ✭✭✭✭TitianGerm

The Sony wireless one is grand, nothing more. If I was buying again I'd spend a bit more and get the Steel Series Arctis P7.

The PS4 Sony one also works on PS5 as that’s what I use and it’s excellent. The new one 3D pulse thing for PS5 is €100. That’s my Xmas pressie to me !

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,015 ✭✭✭✭NIMAN

Thanks. He had the ps4 one and broke it!

I see Turtle beach ones in Smyths for quite small money, wondering would it do him? Doesn't need anything too fancy, as long as he can chat to his mates.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,587 ✭✭✭✭Potential-Monke

For €100, the Pulse is the best. Those cheaper turtlebeach ones are usually analogue, so just left and right and he wouldn't get the full 3D audio experience. I've had mine since day 1 and use it for 6-9 hours every night. I think it's amazing. And it was made specifically for the PS5.
