Not sure if the digital version was released but the disk version was at 1 pm today, had it in my basket good to go 4 or 5 times but it kept being taken back out! I think that’s it for Amazon for awhile yet tbh

Haven't seen the digital version go live anywhere today. Amazon only had the disk version for awhile.

I feel bad for anyone looking to get one for Christmas, but the problem isn’t people ordering multiple consoles for family members. I helped my sis get one for my nephew-I think it’s only natural to try and help in these situations.

There is, however, a special place in hell for anyone profiteering from this.

yes still in my orders also even though they said they had cancelled it in the email, is there still hope?

Would also like to know.. gutted got ten cancelled email, still on the website. Customer service says it’s still there to be collected

You seem like you're making stuff up now with your ramblings.....so is it your friend or your brother-in-law!? Do you even have a Wife or Nephew?

So in the middle of an extreme stock shortage snatching up 3 PS5s before anyone else gets a chance to buy the single one they really need is fine yeah?

Its even worse when it turns out they're absolutely no idea what they're even doing with the last one.......

Meanwhile there's parents desperately hoping for one to make a kids Christmas wishes come true.

*** EDIT I'm not even replying to the arcane post about people provisionally selling pints in pubs on a promise and then surprisingly coming through where the moral of the story seems to be that said Poster is actually a misunderstood peoples Hero.

Or the one where some Fella is insisting that Kids should be sat down by Mammy and Daddy and taught right now all about Santa and that they're putting a few quid away so they can have a PS5 in March instead and their bit of joy and excitement was just "unmanaged expectations and an unreasonable fear of missing out"

    You're talking utter cobblers.

If both of my tesco ones come through, I'll have gotten 4 consoles. One for my nephew, one for me, one for my brother, and I've a friend who I know was looking for one for their son, not sure if they managed to get one. If they did get, I'll be offering it here for cost.

I'm not interested in scalping because f*ck those people, but yeah I hedged my bets in a few places to make sure me and mine were all looked after.

Please give it to MangoJoe to stop the whinging.
Hopefully they go up on Smyths later.
Not sure how legit that rumour is.

Its still in my basket in Tesco even doe I got cancellation email.

Still in mine as well even thought I kept getting the red text "You have reached the maximum quantity of 1 items for this product or group of products".

That text was appearing all morning as well and prevented me for securing one with Tesco. I have contacted them about it!

    Cheers,
    M

Ah cool, i didn’t check for the digital tbh, only interested in the disk, I just presumed both would be released at once, I was refreshing like a lunatic at 12, buddy told me check again at 1, it was about 3 mins past 1 when I checked Amazon but already too late

Absolutely bollox.... "before anyone else gets a chance...."

Do you think I had access to some VIP link on Harvey Norman that no-one else was given or something?

I was smashing refresh just as much as you were.
Its even worse when it turns out they're absolutely no idea what they're even doing with the last one.......

I mean you're completely ignoring the point I made.

You're acting as if I bought a third PS5 for shíts and giggles.

I chanced my arm on the Tesco one before anywhere else went on sale. I had no faith it would be fulfilled - and very few people on here were confident they would - so I got 2 HN ones for security.

Then the Tesco one got confirmed after all had died down. When I say I don't know if my partners' family want it, I mean that I don't know if her nephew was successful in getting one or not. If he wasn't, then obviously I'm going to give it him.

Correct, the problem isn’t people ordering multiple, it’s Sony choosing to drip release new consoles in mid Nov

I'm sure everyone is already aware, but I was using Stock Informer today, and it notified me when stock was available on Very and amazon.de. I didn't have an account on Very set up, so missed out, but got as far as payment on amazon.de.

I haven't seen it mentioned in this thread all day, so it's just another tool to use to keep up to date whenever new stock lands

Still nothing here :( rang tesco customer service but they just gave me an email address to get in touch with about it

What was that email address please?

    Thanks,
    M

I understand the frustration but some folks genuinely do want to be the good guy who delivers a PS5 to a family member or friend who would have otherwise missed out.

There's not really anything wrong with that.

For every kid who didn't get a PS5 at Xmas there will be another who managed to get one because their good old uncle spent hours online refreshing the same webpage over and over and over.

The reality of the situation is that the number of available consoles is FAR less than the number of people wanting consoles in this specific time window.

I'm just saying that with this fact in mind it seems like a good opportunity for parents to turn a statistically very likely disappointment into a learning moment.

The people I really feel sorry for are the ones who are going to fire this thing up on Xmas Eve for the kids only to realize they've bought a bricked or malfunctioning console...

Tbh I wasn’t expecting to get one anyway but Jesus it was annoying coming so close, it looked like all I had to do was click and it was mine....then nope, gone, back I went a few more times....gone again, I’ve resigned myself to waiting till after Xmas now....not much f***ing choice really!

I've had that for the last couple of weeks and didn't get a single hit for an Xbox or PS5.

Thanks to the Tesco lad I got an email from them that said

"Congratulations on your pre-order of the PlayStation 5. I’m sure this purchase is important to you and I am reaching out to share some more details for your convenience."

I ordered for delivery and it gives me a pickup store now. Is this normal? I noticed some of you are getting calls. No call here yet!

I got a call to confirm! Woohoo!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,718 ✭✭✭Dave0301

Confirmation of dispatch from John Lewis.

I don't usually buy on launch day, but working from home means gaming at home for the foreseeable!

Do you know what time they are to go up

People are saying 9pm. Sounds a bit strange to put them up so late but maybe they were avoiding HN and Amazon going up today and wanted to see how their stock levels were after Launch Day.

I'm in the same boat. Had rang tesco head office earlier and he told me to collect it between the times of my delivery next Tuesday. Went into the actual store and asked them to confirm and they said they don't really know. Also out of curiosity did you receive a confirmation email this morning when you made your order? I didn't.

I wonder if cancellation mails are still being sent...i’ve still no confirmation or call from Tesco

Yes you're laughing. It appears they're not delivering them at all

Yeah I got a confirmation email this morning after the order was put through. So have that I guess.

    I actually burst into tears.

Tesco crashed as I was paying.

DID wouldn't let me input the town and they crashed when I was on the phone for an hr.

    Then the amazon issue.
