    2,820 candidates apparently or just under 5% of the total cohort.

    In addition, Junior Cycle exams for adult learners and early school leavers will also commence next month.
    Something which hasn't received much media attention, but which is very important IMHO.

    Unfortunately, the long time lapse will probably mean that some who didn't return to school in September, and who would probably have attempted their Junior Cert in a normal year, may not now do so. But at least the opportunity is being offered, and some will avail of it.
