    Backing these today.

    Southwell
    1.05 I'm Here -
    Cheltenham
    1.50 Fanion Destruval
    3.35 Wild Romance
    Newcastle
    3.10 Romeo Brown

I am really interested in the novice chase at Cheltenham. Keep an eye out for Mossy Fen- this thing has to be the biggest specimen in training, he is huge- but I am actually having a another sneaky fiver on Paint the Dream, he is massively overpriced at 20's and it may well be that they are looking for a nice handicap mark for him, but trust me, this is a good horse and I would hate to miss the day he wins at a phat price.

Iv'e been to 10 of the last 12. Still a big Irish contingent go over even though not many Irish trainers target the meeting. Great atmosphere in the town. Theyve kind of made it too polished last few years - gone are the rustic food tents by local producers and replaced by the pizza and pie vans. Ah I miss it all the same. Roll on 2021!

was a huge price when he backed him, shortened a lot since, altho at the same time, if it keeps raining that won't help him

gone with the obvious 123 in the 3:00 with the 3rd being Kingswell Theatre, 100/1 if tiger wins/60 in easyland wins.

Also took at bit of the 50/1 ew.

For fun , love these races

    Easy and tiger disappointing

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 9,078 ✭✭✭IAMAMORON

It just goes to show that official ratings don't count for anything around that course.

The winner is offcially 18lbs out of the handicap.

I reckon they have their eye on a nice mark for the Grand Annual/marsh novice or something similar. He actually jumped better when they sped up. When they were lobbing along he looked all awkward. I don't think he will be winning any Arkles but they defo are lining him up for a nice handicap.

Simply the Betts should take a lot of beating in the PP Gold Cup but for a betting interest I've plunged for Domaine De Llsle at 50/1 6 places pp.
There's to be lots of rain throughout the day which will suit this horse. He beat last years winner (Happy Diva) at ascot by 10L in jan on heavy ground and is only 4lbs worse off. Has had a recent spin over hurdles and the trainer had a 10/1 and 20/1 double on Thursday.

Lack of any course form would be enough to put me off any horse in a race like this.

I thought about it, but at 50/1 6 places and the trainer form I had to have a punt. I am happy enough to be wrong, but the horse is no mug and has won 3 chases including a decent handicap at Ascot, he could be nicely in. It is a deep enough race but he will like the forecast ground and given trainer form and everything else I would hate to be biting the table tomorrow at 2.30 having missed it.

Got on Domaine before 40/1 6 places paddy power, he’s being cut all over with the rain that’s hit the track.

Also had a go on Sir Psycho tomorrow at 16/1 ew 6 places with this deluge.

Anyone else like Al Dancer today? No? Just me then?!
Very very keen on fusil Raffles. Backed him AP for the Arkle
Wasn't fan over smaller obstacles but looks a natural over fences

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 858 ✭✭✭Plasandrunt

Had Al Dancer backed up until yesterday but couldn't shake the feeling that Mister Fisher is the class horse in the race so cashed out on AD to win and backed him to place 6 places with skybet @2/1 and went with the Henderson horse for the win instead. A repeat of MF's performance in the Marsh will make him hard to beat.

Also gonna take on Fusil Raffles with Gumball. Fusil beat Gumball by 17l by two runs ago off levels but that definitely flattered FR as Gumball was right in the mix until he clattered one of the final fences. Gumball was very impressive last time out, jumping much more fluently and won rather cozily giving the impression there was more to come. Gets weight off the favourite today and 10/1 is a decent price imo. The De Bromhead mare a really interesting runner given that Put The Kettle On won this race last year.

Also a muggy single on Darver Star plus Hell Red as the first part of a jolly up double with Third Time Lucki tomorrow.

Can't wait to sit in front of the tv all day doing nothing apart from watching the racing and the golf.

Can't warm to Fusil Raffles yet. He looked a complete pig over hurdles and that impression will take a while to fade. He does looks much more at home over fences to be fair.

12.15 today at Punchestown will end up being Shishkin's biggest rival for the Arkle I feel.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,137 ✭✭✭gazza1

The 1.25 at punch is an interesting looking race. The fav Dark Voyager was well beaten by Flying Scotsman at Galway on the flat and Rock Chica won a mares maiden by 26L but the most interesting runner must be Ilmig by Gallileo out of a Grade 1 winner in the U.S. who beat Jessie Evans over 14f on only her 2nd start.
    I've had a go at 5/1

Mister Fisher if right should win I feel.

Zarkareva is an interesting one in the novice chase. Getting a tonne of allowances for being a 4yo mare and looks to be on the improve.

No love for slate house ? I’ve backed him and the Russian doyen

Im following David Pipe today. Also siding with Gumball in the novice chase, chasing might be the making of this felleh.

Took a while for the penny to drop for Duffle Coat, but once it did it was impressive to make up that ground in what appears to be some of his main Triumph rivals

I backed Domaine De L'isle, have him at fancy prices on Betfair and I backed him ew with PP also. I hope he hacks up. I have a saver on Mister Fisher, I think that race which Samcro/ Mellon photo'd last March was a good one.

If Domaine De l'isle wins I am going to go on the hoop for a week, at the very least.

He needs good ground, Henderson was nearly not going to run him.

I reckon wait for the novice chase at Aintree on Grand National Saturday, if the ground was good he will be a nice price.

He has won 5 races in fairness including a grade 1.

When the ground is like that you want them out in front ploughing through it.

That horse only won his first chase in August, was a class 3 handicap hurdler before Evan Williams got him. Did some job on him in fairness.
