    Hi all
Please move if in wrong thread

    Just looking for advice please

I bought a car on finance two years ago agreed a monthly payment and term everything was ok,
But I tried to buy a new car and I’m not able to because I don’t work and didn’t work when I got my current loan
The garage where I bought the car said I was working but I wasn’t and now I don’t know where I stand with the car
I don’t want to pay for it because it was applied for incorrectly because they said I was working but I wasn’t but I did sign the agreement can anyone help me please ?

It's your car and it's your loan. Enjoy

I want the Garage to get me a new loan and they shouldn’t have lied on my application

Regardless of who prepared the application, the signatory is responsible for it's accuracy and implications

Yes but he made up my job details

You signed the application for the loan so it was you who said you were working?
Effectively it was you who lied on the form - I would tread very carefully OP!

If you’re not working, you can’t afford a new car so you’re stuck with the one you have.

So you have been able to pay for a brand new car for 2 years with no job and now cause you cant get a brand new 2020 car (still with no job) you want all the money back on the 2 year old car you got when you had no Job?

So originally he filled out the details on the screen and put in a job for you and you got too excited and said yeah its grand without looking?

No, you are always ultimately responsible for the application for finance if you signed on the dotted line

What should the garage and sales man not be liable for lying ?

One of my friends, civil servant, is suing another of my friends, mortgage broker, for getting him a mortgage loan he says he can't afford because it's in negative equity. He was very happy to be economical with truth when getting it but not now all of a sudden.

You're bonkers OP. Pay the loan back.

Stop getting loans for brand new cars if you don't work, its not the smartest thing

pay off the original one first

When you get something on finance, even over the internet, you'll get something in the post. You're advised to read it carefully, and advise if any errors. I'm presuming you received your documents? If you accepted it, by not contacting the finance company, that's you accepting it, and confirming all is accurate.

Did you hand back the car yet? If you've no job, how are you planning on paying for the loan?

Are you taking anything on board at all or are you waiting till someone tells you what you want to hear?

You took the car! You agreed to the deal! By taking the car and paying the finance you were complicit.
Buddy wise up . You're going no where with this

I want to hand the car back
    I need a bigger car
I told the bank the garage lied
I rang the garage to sort it and he was saying nothing he can do because I told them I wasn’t working and that I signed for the car and was happy to take the car(but he lied not me ) and if I didn’t pay for it and with not working I won’t get a loan anywhere and that it’s not his fault that I can’t get a loan and he helped me out but he helped me out by lying

I think he should be liable I am not I have a lap and and a car that warranty is out on in January and I need a bigger car

If you’ve paid half the loan you can hand it back
If you’ve paid less than half, you can pay the balance of half the loan

This is contingent on never having missed a payment

If it’s PCP, you got the car 2 years ago, next year hand the car back or maybe you could sell the car to settle the loan but it could be very difficult to achieve the loan value

None of it entitles you to a refund on any previously made payments
