    Hi all,

We’ve been told that ICSI is our only option to have a child.

The more we read about the procedure the more worried I get as it says that ICSI significantly increases the chances of birth defects.

Has anyone gone through the process that would share their experience please?

The science on that is far from settled.

We had our kids through ICSI. It is no different to a "normal" ivf cycle apart from what the do with the sperm in the lab.

Thanks for sharing. Such a nerve wrecked experience and we don’t want to do anything wrong!

Did you get a dna frag test done prior to the icsi?

If it’s your only option then go for it! Reward far outweighs any risk in my opinion. We tried icsi and got the genetic testing done and the embryos weren’t suitable unfortunately but we’ve no regrets as we know we tried our best, good luck in whatever you decide

Time is contagious, everybody's getting old.

We didn't. There wasn't an identified issue iirc, just a question mark over motility.

I would echo that the benefit outweighs the risk.
