    I’m aware of that, thanks.

As subsequent posters have said, this policy was communicated to workers across the semi-state/Public sector earlier this year and applied to everyone, regardless of whether they worked from home or not.

    Has this changed?

That’s fine but then they need to be made affordable. €180 per person is not a price many can pay

Agreed. €60-85 per test is a price range used by most European countries. €180 is a rip off
I’m not advocating for a free testing for travel purposes, but if they are joining EU travel traffic light system, they should also align the prices.

It’s probably the governments way of making it so difficult people won’t travel

Bearing in mind today's positive news regarding the vaccine what do people think about booking hols now for 2021, specifically September? I'm looking at Portugal and as of this evening prices are generally what I would expect to pay for the hotels I normally look at. However I'm fearful that demand from excited tourists that missed out on holidays this year will drive prices through the roof over the next few months. Is that realistic or am I reading too much into the situation?

I wouldn’t book anything that’s non refundable. I would also fly with Aer Lingus for greater flexibility.
I am looking at September too but not going to boom for another few months

Hopefully they will accept antigen testing as this is much more affordable, requiring PCR tests on a wholesale basis is not going to be a sustainable solution if they are trying to entice tourists into their regions

Not going further than the garden and the park at the back etc. for now.

No point, it is too uncertain. We will cope, well most will for a while. The vaccine is looking promising now too.

I’ll take a vaccine not a bother. Anything to get out of this absolute malaise of a life. Life’s for living not hiding under the bed. I travelled to Italy in the summer quite safely and guess what I didn’t get covid!

Even before Covid plenty of people took vaccines before going on holiday. It was mandatory for many African and Asian holidays

If a vaccine for Covid exists, I’ll be getting it even with our travel plans

and well proven & tested for many many years

I can see the trying to make it mandatory before getting on a plane etc that you have to have it, but lets see

when you have only 50% ish willing to step up & take it, where does that leave them

in a country where only 50% have taken the vaccine so it makes no difference

if you think it will protect you, jog on, enjoy your holiday with all your side effects from a virus that has a greater than 99% survival rate

I was joking with the last post. Assumed that was clear

However, it seems you've knowledge of a vaccine that isn't made yet and what the likelihood of take up is, so there's no real point in discussing anything with you.
