Could it be a case then of the BMS simply calibrating itself. 'Unlocking' the buffer makes it sound like some sort of hack which I would be very much surprised given the complexity of the software & hardware.

It could very well be. Another poster done the exact same thing last month.

Another day, another failure to preheat the cabin. Now the car thinks it's left hand drive. Just cannot get it to work in the morning. Tried restarting the app, reinstalling the app, using WiFi instead of data but no dice.

It is a comms failure. Restart the car. Test connectivity on both phone and car.

It looks pretty easy if you ask me. The only mention I have is that when I installed the harness for odb2 they were saying to power off, wait for the contactor sound and make sure not to wake up the car (i.e do not touch the seats or close the doors) I see this video doesn't mention this so probably things changed or they don't care. Then I have this issue of battery drain which makes me wary in installing 3rd party devices. So I have something of 20-30% drop in 2 weeks time for couple of times now. With the new software I ca see the around 1.5% overnight goes in "Vehicle Standby". DIdn't leave the car more than one night since the 2022.36 so still monitoring. Tesla Service didn't find anything wrong with the car. I have this unusual setup where my car is parked in the underground where the mobile signal is sparse but still exists. I'm guessing it keeps the car awake due to poor connectivity.

    No idea to be honest.

I don’t like any of these displays. I like the minimalist design so I’d never fit one but I do appreciate that others like them.

The absolute state of that yoke. Is someone getting this? The price point would concern me as to how it will look once installed.

I'm toying with the idea, I've seen the videos and it looks good but I would be concerned with how it impacts AC and if I can hide the cable as it has a gloss finish and the shine would trigger me. It's just an OBD interrupter so no battery drain concerns etc and easy to plug in/out if visiting the SC for any reason. No difference between this and the scanmytesla harness

I can't see it causing any issues with the A/C as it is small and the vent is quite large (long..). The air will just take the path of least resistance (which is around the unit..).

My concern is shared with @jusmeig - what is the quality going to be like for $75 and if it fails internally, will it short and cause an issue with the existing cable harness causing a warranty issue. If there is an issue, Tesla will be able to see that something was there and deny any liability. Any of what is displays is available on main screen and not an issue for me.

Another thing that has to be considered is that the steering wheel on the Model 3 is very small (and therefore the gap to view through also) - would the display be in my direct line of sight or will I need to look 'under' the top of the steering wheel to see it and if yes, I can just glance to my side...

Lastly - Just a personal preference - I like the minimalist look to the interior.

I have always said I'd get the swivel mount for the screen but have never got around to it, has anyone else?

I charge once a week in work to 100%. However today charging my sept2022 lfp battery the car won't allow itself to be charged beyond 98% at a maximum. LFPs are advised to charge to full once a week at least so I didn't think i was mistreating the battery.

    Anyone else see this?

It's either too cold and the BMS is off (common enough due to the narrow voltage spread on LFP), or just a general bms lack of calibration

I was driving this afternoon and for the first 10 minutes, there was a regen limited message. Battery was at 75%. Outside temp was mild. I thought this only happens when battery is full?

Has happened to me on a couple of occasions. I pull over, put car into 'Park' and then into 'Drive' again and it goes away...

The dots on the LHD of the line show you what's available, at this time of the year the battery gets cold at night, yesterday after 20minutes commute I still had dots (restricted regen) in both the morning and evening drive.

This also works the other way so when you hit 0% you are not actually at 0%, dots will start to appear on the RHS of the line to show you eating into the buffer, knowing this will allow you get an extra 30kms or so of full unrestricted driving "past" 0%. Only when you hit the last few dots will power be restricted and the car begin to shut down.

From the user manual, it's also if the battery is cold.

    DI_a201

    Regenerative braking features temporarily limited

Deceleration reduced - Use brake pedal as needed

Regenerative braking performance is temporarily reduced, and there is less automatic deceleration when you lift your foot off the accelerator pedal while driving.

Your vehicle is OK to drive.

Use the brake pedal as needed to slow your vehicle, just as you would in a gas-powered, non-electric vehicle.

    This alert may occur when:

    - High voltage battery is near full charge. Regenerative braking is reduced when the battery is at 95% charge or higher.

    - High voltage battery is not warm enough. This can happen at the beginning of a drive. It may happen frequently in colder climates.

Driving your vehicle usually clears this alert, because it reduces the battery charge below 95% and/or sufficiently heats the battery.

It's just that it was the afternoon and the outside temp was pretty mild/ I've come out to the car in the early morning when it was cold recently and regen was only limited when battery was full. Sure, I will keep an eye on it. Not exactly panicked.

More concerned that my iPhone 14Pro keeps getting hot while wireless charging and stops charging until it cools down. Previous model 11 didn't have this issue and the case is similar as last one.

On that side note, apple introduced software limited charging to stop the phones heating up recently.

See the first new spec M3 being delivered stateside, the loss of parking sensors is hard to swallow with tighter Irish parking spaces

Park it like a jet and follow the center line into the spot. Loads of room to open the door .😂

I get this one. I’m thinking because I put it into d and drive before it finishes may be the problem.

Auto lights possibly fixed in the 40.4 update?

More concerned about how bad the wipers auto function is tbh

I've ordered myself a set of those back of seat protectors. Seeing as I will be keeping the M3, I reckon they offer nice protection against small feet.

They look pretty good too. My only concern is will they hold their shape aainst the back of the seta or will it sag....in which case I would have to remove them. Anyone picked these up? https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B09WKBZ96X/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1

I have basenor products in the car and I saw the basenor version. I went for the other ones because my feeling is they come from the same factory and seem to be identical. Thanks for the pic and on closer inspection, the basenor ones look a bit better made. They look well. I'm cancelling the set I ordered and will get the basenor ones instead.

    Hi Guys

Been following this excellent thread for the past 2 years and thanks to Gumbo, Slave1, Fingleberries etc l took delivery of my model 3 last September.

Can l ask what products people are using to clean their cars inside and outside.

Heading up to Reflect Autocare tomorrow to get a few products so any recommendations would be welcome.

    Thanks

    Zoe

Don’t go too overboard. All I do is hose off the heavy dirt then use a good microfibres mitt with a neutral ph shampoo with two warm water buckets. And collinite 845 wax about twice a year. Easy to apply.

I am not too fussy but my cars have always been swirl free and as new after two or three years. Tesla paint now appears to be as good as the best of them
