    Great, well done.

I think the WLTP with aeros on is 510km. Car is great quality alright, I am certainly impressed. As you say it is down a little on power but it's a smooth performer and very well equipped.

Also plus new rear light cluster, Ryzen chip and power boot..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,862 ✭✭✭✭AndyBoBandy

Yeah, pre LFP 2020 SR+ with the 409km WLTP range - Made in USA

Pearl White all the way for me...... (I think it looks so much better with the chrome delete)

I'm still kicking myself that I didn't order it before the last price hike, as I was on the site, and had my config selected, all good to go.... THE NIGHT BEFORE THE PRICE INCREASE!!!!!!! So I'm not making the same mistake again....

Delivery April - June 2023 so plenty of time to make up my mind if IK actually want it or not (probably will want it).

Hi, if you place an order for M3 SR, can you cancel if you want to before the due order date? I'm thinking of placing a deposit down, dont mind if i lose the €250. I'm going for blue with 18" wheels and standard interior. But I also have a deposit down on an EV6, due Q1 2023. I want to get in before the incoming Tesla price hikes. Thanks.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,862 ✭✭✭✭AndyBoBandy

Yes, you can cancel right up to the point of collection.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,024 ✭✭✭JOL1

Yes there is no obligation to finalise transaction until you accept delivery and make final payment. The only issue is the deposit is non refundable. You would also be able to defer delivery ifyiu were nit ready r unsure at time car is offered. With deliveries now listed as Q1 2023, there is plenty of time for further price hikes and pressing the4 button today locks in price.

I did the same on Friday.. I ordered my car in January and got it in march, pricing before last 3K increase (was happy).. That means i have ordered two cars with similar spec within 5 months If Ireland follows US, UK, Australia and introduced another price rise the view i took is that the combination of my own car going up in value and locking in pricing for the new one, will most likely mean I could switch to a 2023 car without cost. The 250 deposit buys me that option and makes sense to me.

Just dropped my car off at the service centre for some minor repairs (they were issues listed at collection, since the car was a display model).

I've got the loaner car for the next couple of days - a 2016 Model S P70.

I know I'm comparing my Model 3 with a car 6 years older than it, and that Tesla will have improved newer MS - but the M3 is just so much more streamlined and less cluttered inside, the handling is much nicer too - not to mention no CCS, ugh.

I was the same when I got into an S90D loaner about a year ago.. felt like a big barge, and when I got back into my SR+, couldn't believe how much more nimble it was to drive... really didn't like the bigger steering wheel!! felt like a bus steering wheel!!!

If i price up a blue SR, with white interior, on 18" wheels, the price comes out at €60,552.00.......552 over the limit. Do they give reductions at all? I would prefer the white interior.

No, I would not think so. You can only go white on white to still get the grant afaik

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,167 ✭✭✭innrain

The price gets over 60k and it does not qualify for the grant.

Basically only one option can be chosen and still fit in the grant. Exception: red color which goes over the grant limit straight away. Do not order software options at the purchase.

No, i know he is in the news quite a bit recently but certainly wouldn't be enough for me to not proceed in placing an order. I still think he is operating on a different level to most of the planet in various ways - interpersonal\social communication is not one of them though 😅

I don't really give a sh1te about Elon Musk, or giving him my money.

It just so happens that his car company make very good cars... If Jimmy Saville happened to be the CEO of Tesla, I'd probably still drive one.

Without Tesla the progression of EV's wouldn't be even close to what it is today.

He's also been pretty successful with the space travel business, doing what everyone said was impossible (SpaceX just launched 3 rockets to orbit in the space of 37 hours!! That's fcuking insane, and 10-20 years ago you'd be laughed out of town for suggesting it could be done).

I think he comes across as a bit of a weirdo, socially awkward, and plenty of cringe inducing moments, but I dont really care as when I drive my Tesla, he's not sat there beside me...

I think if your purchasing decisions are based on how cool or decent the CEO of the company is, then I don't think you'd buy much of anything!

Musk just happens to be very vocal so you hear about him more. Most other CEO's are keeping the head down.

Are we getting MIC or Fremont Model 3's? (Or a mixture of both)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,158 ✭✭✭Enigma IE

I believe all M3's for Europe are being produced in Giga Shanghai. Berlin only currently producing MY, but will also make M3's for Europe in the future.

Can you clarify the car you got?

    there’s no such thing as a P70.

EDD changed yesterday from “November 2022” to “August 22 to October 6”

    M3LR/Blue/Black/Aeros.

    Ordered 15-March.

Just another data point for anyone that ordered around the same time

Not at all..he has been successful at almost everything he has touched Paypal , Tesla SpaceX. The world needs people who think differently and push ahead to challenge the status quo and dare to dream of new ways that seem impossible... with singular determination to succeed. Making money at this stage of his life/success is not the primary motivator. Maybe if you buy a few Tesla shares your interests will be aligned....cheaper than therapy.🤪

That's what came up for the insurance when I was switching it over (but we know how accurate those databases are).

It's a 2016 Model S, 70 is the only identifying mark on the back.

A jalopy is, perhaps, more accurate :-)

Does MIC stand for the Shanghai factory? Also is there any type of consensus on whether they are better built there or Fremont qc wise?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,167 ✭✭✭innrain

Yes and yes. MIC stands for Made in China.

Are performance models MIC as well?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,024 ✭✭✭JOL1

Made in China and yes as regards Quality. Tesla were known to have quality issues coming from their Fremont site, panel gaps etc. Quality in China has a good reputation and never any great issues ...although I believe that Fremont has improved. Shanghai manufactures all Europe Model 3's and Model Y. Germany is currently manufacturing Model Y Performance..

Just keep an eye on inventory... I spent some weeks a few months back checking the inventory regularly and snagged a M3RWD.

It did come with a tow hitch, which Im thinking of selling now as I havent nor probably never will use it. Pretty sure these are only available on special order. It has never been used and is still in its original packaging, unopened. Hope i havent annoyed the mods with this! :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,024 ✭✭✭JOL1

i am sure no one minds....you approached it in the right way and didn't take anything for granted

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 807 ✭✭✭podge1979

Pity he didn't put himself an the Donald in the roadster he sent to space!

As an innovator he is excellent (but got a bit lucky in the perfect storm for ev's).

He's saying that rivian will go bust he should know as Tesla came so close to that.

    As a person he's a d**k.

I placed order last week and went for a MSG colour again. Am now thinking seriously of changing to White, as it has a later delivery date (which suits me better) and would save 1200 . I was never attracted to a White car but every time i see the White Mod 3 in white it is striking.

Yes, but it is usually regarded almost like a new order and can impact on Estimated delivery and pricing (nut no impact on deposit as far as i know)
