Anyone know where I could get bundles of Pine Slivers like these, preferably reclaimed?
Looking to seal up my floorboard gaps. Tried O'Mahonys, Brooks and Lenehans but no joy.

Why not lol - you have no idea the condition of the floor, the OPs long term plans, is this a temporary fix etc - what does it matter??

Online seems the best bet - but I have no recommendation, sorry OP.

So maybe be a bit more forthcoming if you are trying to help - your opening question came across as the opposite..

The gaps are there for a reason. If you fill them with wood, the floor will buckle and/or gaps will re-open when moisture or temperature changes cause dimensional changes in the floorboards.

If you want to prevent draughts, use an airtightness membrane below the floorboards, appropriately sealed to the walls, and ensure that the joists are ventilated from underneath to the outside of the house.

    Therefore, "why?".

It's a 1970s house with original hardwood floorboards. Gaps between 4mm and 8mm have appeared over time and I'd like to fill them to stop draughts and for aesthetics before I sand & varnish.

Seems like a common enough procedure which lots of Irish companies offer. I'd like to do it myself, not sure why there's bewilderment.

    Have you tried any sawmills?

Can you list Irish companies that are offering to fill floor board gaps ? It seems very common.

Note sticking off cuts of any wood into these gaps won't stop draughts and will just look terrible on the nice floor you have. It will look like someone has just jammed offcuts into gaps.

If you want to stop draughts you need membrane. In many cases the carpet acted slightly as a membrane pulling them up as in the video there has removed that. The guy is taking a very amateur approach and solving nothing really. It may stop pennies falling through though. That's probably about it.

Sure, here are 5 from Dublin either offering the service or advising the technique being used above.

Wouldn't they be easy enough to cut on a table saw?

Wake me up when it's all over.
