Theyre just duplicate entries into their payment system, one of which will fall away. Nothing to worry about at all.

Best chance is to sit up all tomorrow night and refresh your browser on Harvey Norman and a few others. Harvey Normans availability is 'supposed' to go live at 8.00am but i'd be checking hours before that. You'll be fighting bots though so good luck.

Anyone with a Currys pre-order hear anything from Currys? Radio silence since putting down the 5 euro deposit

    Heard nothing. What a joke.

Thats the US, if they do deliver here you would have to add customs fees etc

Have a feeling it wont be until 19th if not later. They got themselves a couple of extra days it seems (mine still showing 21-24/11)

    I've pre-ordered this for a friend.

At first, I was like "Do I really need a PS5 yet?".

Now with the payment taken and tracking number in hand, I'm more "Do I really need a friend?"

    :o

Should be comms from Argos.ie on the site within 48 hours. What I’m told is that it’s not good news.

Wouldn't be overly worried. Relative to the number of sites and journos that have covered the console launch, the issues don't seem to be very widespread. Also I don't think I've seen anything that's fatal yet, most of the issues seem to be resolved with a factory reset, and I've seen a few lists already doing the rounds online on things to avoid doing to avoid your console acting up. Don't use rest mode for now, avoid using LAN cables for now etc.

Yeah these are serious issues, let's not downplay it. 'Don't use this feature we advertised, and maybe not that one either..in fact just hope yours is OK'. I shouldn't have to be worrying. Buy a new car and hope it stays on the road?

Should just be a lottery/draw system. Wake up at 8am, confirm your payment and shipping and wait for the results an hour later. All pre-orders should have been that. Harder for bots and people have a better chance at getting something. Nike do draws for their very limited edition shoes on the SNKRS app.

I heard about not using an external HD, and not using rest mode, but not using a LAN cable is a new one.

FFS, I don't remember anywhere this many issue with the PS4 on launch. Sony needs to patch this stuff asap.

People are saying don't use the lan for data transfer.

I really hope mine isn't goosed, had my PS4 die after an hour or so at launch last time.

I didn't downplay anything, nor did I say they weren't serious. Just pointing out that none of the issues seem to result in a complete console failure. Nor are they widespread...

If you don't want to be worrying at all, you probably shouldn't be buying the console at launch. Hardware faults with wave one of a launch is hardly unheard of.

Also, dramatic comparison...I don't think you run the risk of death if you plug your PS5 in on Thursday morning somehow.

Yeah, sorry I should have clarified, the LAN issue is to do with data transfer. Connecting to your network is fine....as far as we know for now anyway!

Add 'coil whine', constant crashes, ridiculous fan noise, hard resets, rebuilding the database, reinstalling firmware on top of no external drives, dropped frame rates, LAN transfer etc. There ARE serious issues and a lot of them appear to be hardware related, so no update will fix those.

That list is all made up of him guessing like everyone else.

Also funny that Amazon are the only place that has confirmed time yet he has it as time unknown. Says alot about how reliable his info is.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,479 ✭✭✭DaveyDave

My only concern is coil whine. It's a ****ing joke on the Xbox One S.

Still it's probably useful to have them all in one place though, may as well give them all a go on the day?
