Just for a bit of fun, I'm going to do a 30-day challenge for October. Does anyone have anyone have recommendations that they have tried?

I have done similar in the past - cold showers, no coffee and learned a lot from them.

I'd jump in on this if anybody could recommend a 30 day pushup challenge, just from googling them here it seems there's some varying ones that include rest days, some start off with only 10 and build up to 100

This was one I was considering. Seen this website which has some good articles - https://www.100pushups.com/

Was thinking of following the greasing the grove method when WFH. Could do a few every hour.

Please don't do these stupid challenges. Iv seen so many shoulder problems from the push up ones, planterfasitis and shin splints from the walking ones.... Just train normally and have rest days!

never liked the idea because it breaks the rest days rule. Has anyone ever done a control study with another group doing the same volume on alternate days or over a longer period?

The only one I ever did was sitting in a squat position for 1 min first day, 2 min second day.... that was actually a useful one, my balance improved.

Some of the one's I've seen incorporate rest days like this Livestrong one

That said you're still doing 6 days, 7 days, 6 days and 8 days in a row with a day off after each 'sprint' so yeah, wouldn't be surprised if you'd be worn after it.

Thankfully the gyms remain open so my desire for a home challenge has significantly diminshed.

I did a 30 day pushup challenge on my watch (a google fit thing) back in February or march, it was only adding 1 a day and I started at I think only 5.
I really liked it and felt better and stronger at the 30th day so I did the squat and situp ones too for the next 30. Then I did them again but did double what it wanted me to do every day.
My arms went from noodles to what I think are very respectable for someone who's never lifted weights or spent any time in a gym in a decade or more.
