Probably been asked many times but I was unable to find in a quick search.

I love quiet country roads walking and I'm currently doing 10km per day.

I bought a pair of asics gel runners six weeks ago and been using them daily.

They are beginning to feel worn and less comfortable less support already.

Should I buy a few pairs and rotate them daily?

Any particular type of durable long lasting runners recommended?

How long should I get from a pair with 10km daily walks?

You're not old enough to remember Harry Lauder but he had a great song back in the day ...the chorus went-

Keep right on to the end of the road
Keep right on to the end
Tho' the way be long ,let your heart be strong
    Keep right on round the bend;
Tho' you're tired and weary still journey on
'til you come to your happy abode
Where all the love you've been dreaming of
Will be there at the end of the road

It's about having the grit and stamina to overcome the trials of life and applies very much to the present time

Hope you come across the durable shoes you need.

Did you ask the sales person how many km they are supposed to have in them?

    Honestly do that next time.

Bring them into a running shop ...or where you got them ....if they know their stuff they can tell you if they are dead or not.

If you want to post a pic i will tell you. (of the soles)

If they feel bad tho ...chances are they are.

If the threads on the soles are gone ..theya re dead ..if you push inside on the sole and its ..hard ..they are dead.

If you are unsure ..post a pic i can tell you from the soles.

I purchased them online, I try to avoid regular shops due to Covid.

I do a lot of walking but I dont love runners, they can get wet very easily especially if you are walking at night and keep hitting puddles. I'd go for walking/light trail style , not too heavy but splash proof

not recommending this brand just the general style

Most manufacturers recommend changing shoes after approximately 400/500 km.
This is only a recommendation. I know some runners that would have got twice that out of a pair of runners.
There are many factors that contribute to wear including manufacturers defects, weight of the person wearing them etc etc...

Rotating a 2nd pair is probably a good thing as well as, biomechanically it will get your foot to move slightly differently. I dont think it will make much difference to how many kms you will get out if any specific pair.

Looking at the outersole doesn't give any indication of the wear or life of the midsole.

As for recommendations. The best shoe for you is the one that is most comfortable.

It's usually 400/500 miles rather than kilometres. Which is 640-800km.

I've no idea if walking wears a pair out as fast as running. But FWIW 6 weeks of daily 10km is 420km, so they'd be on their way tbh.

    Actually meant to write miles.
    My bad
