Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I haven't seen it yet actually...I'm sure it's posted here so must start the thread from page 1 :)

I think it gets me so much because my little boy is obsessed with my dad, and vice versa. He actually looks very like him and I dunno, just seeing the bond between the two of them...that ad just gives me all the feels!!:)

ETA- Awh lordy, I found the McDonald's ad...someone's cutting onions here...sniff sniff!! It's a gorgeous ad!!

That's Frank Twomey from Bosco as the Grandad!

I could never really warm to him, always get across a bit cold and then my wife told me he went on a rant at her class during some sort of a visit when she was in school and I suddenly liked him again!

This is my favourite version of this year's Grandad (and teddy bear) theme,
with a subtle nod to the movie Amelie thrown in.

I think Tesco have nailed it this year, its probably the most unchristmas advert (right down to the music) out there but it captures a crazy year.

advert from France by Intermarché supermarkets

"Christmas is the best time to say thank you" - to all the doctors and nurses

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,065 ✭✭✭otnomart

This is cute, abit of background to it:

A heartwarming Christmas advert by a local hardware shop in Wales has gone viral, with viewers calling it the best festive ad of the year.

Arthur is the son of Hafod Hardware shop owner Tom Jones, who made the advert to encourage people to shop locally.

Starring a two-year-old boy called Arthur, the advert by Hafod Hardware based in Rhayader, Powys, has left viewers in tears – and to add to the hugely positive reaction, the advert cost just £100 to produce.

Hafod have published their ad for this year

I like the TKMaxx Christmas ad with the goat it’s very funny but my new fav ones have to be the three ad and woodies ad. The woodies ad is very much what Christmas is all about. Kindness and keeping things simple for Christmas seems to be the main themes this year for most of the Christmas ads this year.

I have always loved the Christmas Guinness, Coke cola and cornflakes ads. The SuperValu, Mc Donald’s, John Lewis ad and Dunnes ads are lovely too.
