Remember his early stuff? Or the time he stood on that pole in London. Seems like a right headbanger altogether.

Anyone gonna watch this new stunt... Ascension?

I don't care who you are, this is friggin' hilarious:

You can find part two and three yourself.

    You're welcome. :-)

He wasn't too bad at the start. I remember his ice block thing in times Square. Which scarily enough Google now tells me is 20 years old in November. Where is the time going!
It was later revealed on those "magic secrets exposed" programmes how he did it. Which was him changing places with a lookalike under the block of ice in the platform.

Stuff like that was good. Then he started to get really into things. Like this isn't magic. This is a feat of human endurance type weirdo stuff.

He raped and molested 1000's of women apparently.

But he was invisible at the time.

    It looks prerecorded?

Unless he can make the Statue of Liberty disappear like David Copperfield the guy is just a phoney:P

The guy is some dude all the same. He was complaining about spots on his kidneys last week, he can feel them with his bare hands, yikes  Who can actually do that?

    A bullshltter.

Usually you are hitting the bullseye there Kevo.

But this guy lived in a tank of water for a week and read Margot Robbie's mind. I think he is gifted somewhat. How did he get the 3 of diamonds into the unpeeled Orange in Harrison Fords fruit bowl?

Every prestige is essentially bullshight, but where is he stuffing all those dead canaries?

How come the balloons will not react to altitude? If my science is off please let me know, but surely the thinner air would affect the density of the air within the balloons? Anyone ?

    They're helium balloons, right?
As a balloon ascends, the pressure of the surrounding air drops while the helium inside expands. Toy balloons burst at around 10km, while professional meteorological balloons reach heights of 30km..

Of course, even if that wasn't the case, he could just magic them not to pop.

So what's the twist here going to be? It can hardly just be up and down considering it's Blaine

He'll decisively prove the earth is flat.

Edit: Are we supposed to believe that he's actually supporting himself by holding onto the strings with his bare hand?

He's in a harness. Is he going to accidentally let the parachute fall?

Goes up on balloons and sky dives down.... Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Pretty uninteresting stunt. Wouldn't have it on if I wasn't WFH

Ah yeah, he's removed his hand and is just hanging by the harness now. Similar to partyjungle, just watching because I was dialed into a meeting that ended up not happening.

All manner of things could go wrong in fairness although the team he has seems to be on the ball here. I'm enjoying it - there is a lot of planning\safety procedures that need to be considered and although it isn't action packed you gotta appreciate the effort that goes into something like this

    Felix Baumgartner is not impressed.

Still waiting for him to drop parachute or ascend rapidly into the stratosphere. Or fall unconscious towards the ground.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,499 ✭✭✭Yester

    Well, that went well.

Fair play to him, I suppose.

I still am kinda head scratching what that was all about?

Novel enough but ..... not Houdini either.

I like Blaine, but he has done a lot more than that before.

I was expecting more drama. ( or more Margot Robbie ? Heh heh heh , sleazy emoji face ).

It was an ok stunt. But it was a stunt that pretty much anyone with the resources/appropriate team and preparation could have done - there was nothing about it that made it unique to him. The two hour buildup was far too much (dipped in and out of it).

Thought it was hilarious at one point where one of his crew brought him a laptop while he was getting suited, to show him the landing zone. He acted like he hadn’t even considered that he’d have to land up until that point, and kept asking questions like “so how will I recognise it from the air” as if it was the first time he was looking at it.

    What the EFF?

Maybe YT did mad compression on it in 2007 when it was uploaded? Or maybe they had slow computronics and internets so had to dumb down the pixelification?

I don’t know what it is about him or his personality, but he always comes across like a guy who just swallowed 6 xanax and hasn’t a clue what day of the week it is.

I have not seen this one yet. But I was told he did the "swallow a frog" trick on this.

I have been doing a similar trick for a few years now.

Without seeing the interview I can tell you right now - during the "trick" he brings up so much water he needs to pour it into another bucket - which will amazingly be _just_ out of sight for a few seconds.

I shall say no more :)

I have a few party tricks as well.

I can swallow stuff like donuts, yokes, cocktail sausies, pints , jelly shots and even do a few smoked salmon hors d'oeuvres,

I just went down the Youtube rabbit hole for Lawnchair Larry who did this in 1982 I think.

Same thing but in his lawnchair. Went on Letterman, left his job after it and his life didn't seem to go smoothly after it.
    Killed himself in 1993.

    Interesting character.
