    Hi,

Had engineer out today from Vodafone re signing up for broadband/tv. Have a landline connection underground, which haven't used since buying the house 4 years ago. On visual inspection engineer couldn't find the point at which the cable entered the house, and was quick enough to suggest erecting a pole in the garden to connect with a neighbours pole, instead. Seems like a retrograde step in my eyes, is there any more technological way of locating this entry point?
    Thanks

He may have been lazy or not have a clue, request a second engineer. Was he really an engineer or just one of these connect the router to the phone point technicians. Could you not trace the cable back yourself?
