Not an expert but Niepoort is my reliable purchase as a present for a port fan.

Keep an eye out for Madeira... Justinos went down a storm with same audience.

+1 to any Niepoort offerings. You can't go wrong with a half bottle of an LBV from them.

But I'd also particularly recommend Alves de Sousa vintage port, which is available from the Celtic Whiskey Shop.

Just to come back on this. Nice call on the Alves de Sousa vintage port. Really enjoyed this and have picked it up again for xmas this year

    Anyone any other recommendations?

I've been drinking Alves de Sousa as recommended by Black Sheep the last few years.

Looking for a change this year.

I have moved away from LBVs in recent years, and tend to buy tawny port now. In this vein, the 10 and 20 year old Kopkes are a good bet, and widely available.

Dunnes had a nice bottle/glass set of it last year around December time I picked up.

    Yeah it's a good shout.

Dows tawny is excellent also if you've not tried it and come across it. I generally get it when on holidays.
