Serious egg on the face of the authorities with this verdict.

The verdict makes sense when you see the judge break it down bit by bit. Certainly reasonable doubt.

Because of Dowdall, the State snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

The DPP and AGS have some serious questions to answer. They gave JD a pass based on some really poor and what seems like fabricated evidence.

How long did Hutch do on remand?

I just can't understand why they didn't charge Hutch in relation to the guns as well.

My theory was always that he was a step ahead all along. Dowdall gets off and Gerry gets away. Perfectly planned. Dowdall played a stormer. In my view, Hutch has completely outsmarted everyone here.

I think when you look at cases such as the Mel Cox case, it's very hard to be on the side of the Hutches.

Hopefully the state now pursue the lesser charges and put a proper case together. Simply put if there is evidence that they planned the hit and gave the go ahead for it they can't be let off.

I don't think Hutch planned this to be honest. Dowdall sh1t himself obiovsly and decided to go State witness. Think about it.

The State had nothing on Hutch even with JD's evidence. They would have had even less without it.

How long will Gerard and Patsy last is the real question.

Why didn't the DPP bring multiple charges against him? (Possession of weapons and directing the OCG etc). Why just murder. Crazy stuff.

The one thing I will say is this verdict certainly blows Sinn Feinns case for the SCC to be disbanded out of the water. This verdict proves it is fit for purpose if anything.
