Are we talking Bono level or Stephen Kenny?

    The balls on these scroates

Two members of An Garda Síochána have been shot in an incident in Blanchardstown, Dublin this evening.

The two officers are currently being treated at Connolly Memorial Hospital for non-life-threatening gun shot wounds. It is believed one was shot in the foot and one was shot in the hand.

A media blackout was in place while the incident was ongoing for a number of hours.

One male is currently in custody in Blanchardstown Garda station.
Blanchardstown armed detectives and unarmed uniformed gardaí attended the scene of the incident in a housing estate in the north-west Dublin area.
Gardaí approached a house and as they did, shots were fired from a window of the house.

The Armed Support Unit were at the scene along with the Emergency Response Unit in armoured vehicles. A garda helicopter was also in place.

A negotiator from the Special Tactics and Operations Command is understood to have been present after a man barricaded himself at the scene.

That last bit literally sounds like the final scene of movie

Put Dublin in the bin. Year on year it just gets worse

The suspect who is aged in his 30s has multiple previous convictions for serious crime and is extremely well known to gardaí
    Of course he is.

This is now the perfect opportunity to send this piece of sh*t away to prison for a very long time.
Clearly his previous convictions haven't rehabilitated him.

Hope he enjoys his next stint in prison and sure maybe when he gets out someone else might deal with him before the guards have to issue him with his next warning of a threat against his life.

Thankfully the guards have not been critical injured

Actually in the last 12 or so month we are at levels of gun crime not seen since the early 90's. Heroin addiction among teenagers and young adults is nearly non existent. Car thefts aren't a fraction of the rates they were in the 70's to 90''s. Dissident republicans are a spent force. Bank robberies, cash in transit robberies, tiger kidnaps, all either no longer exist or exist at a much smaller level to even a decade ago.

But don't let hyperbole get in the way of all that.

I wonder what are the chances of them running concurrently?

Why wasn't a social worker called ? No one would get shot then.
