    Wow didn't know that cheers.

Must check it outaand allow wiring one of these units in..anyone else here have one similar installed ?

    Tks champion

    Several of us.

You need to select the voltage you want the unit set to. It gets wired in parallel to the existing inverter.

My inverter charges the battery at 56.5v, so mine is set to 56v

I have mine powered from a TAPO Smart Socket

Just looking for some advice, have a GIVenergy system. Picked up a few used battery which the seller gave me all the warning it might not work.

Some of them great but on install one of the 5kWh battery had two cells which had issues. The installer said to run it and see what happens but it might just turn off

Anyway that has happened and wondering what my options are? just flog for parts? the other cells are perfect according to the installer, it was just the two ones

Pop up photo of the complete battery, and more of the internals if you've already taken it apart. Cells can be got easily enough, all depends on how it was assembled and whether the remaining cells are any good.

Battery is still in casing etc, I have done nothing with it

The installer had an app which he could show me the bad units on the screen

    Thanks

I don't know your tech level, but all the GivEnergy stuff is available via their (fairly decent) API and you can rock it into Home Assistant easy enough, e.g. here is the voltages for all my 16 cells. Just as an example…..

Thanks, that looks class and maybe I should look into for the rest of the smart house

But the problem battery is now dead and won't turn on. Will set this up to monitor the others that work

Do most people's solar app for export match esbn data? My solis app seems to give me so far this month 15kwh more exported then esbn.

The thing is, that is less than 1kWh per day.

It's likely the Solis app is rounding down or not as granular

The storm and power outages got me wondering if supply went down would we still be get power from our solar panels given we don't have a battery?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,474 ✭✭✭✭GreeBo

is that discrepency at the monthly or aggregated daily level?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,474 ✭✭✭✭GreeBo

If you switched your invertor to "off grid" I think you should still have access to whatever is being generated, but not sure how useful it would be trying to "load share" say 2kW between your fridge, freezer and TV for example, not to mention what would happen when a cloud appears and disappears…

No. Your inverter will cut off without power. Unless it's been wired differently.

    Hi all,

    Huawei Inverter comms issue

Apologies if this has been answered already - please direct me.

I changed my broadband supplier - I knew I would have to re-configure phones , smart devices etc. but naively never considered the PV and MyEnergi components

I got Eddi & Zappi connected but really struggling with the Sun 2000 inverter. The fusion Solar app is not reporting and the Myenergi app is just a bit confused.

I followed various Youtube tutorials but it's not accepting the default Sun password "Changeme".

I do have a recollection that my installer could n't get something to pair remotely with the Eddi hub (probably the inverter which is in the far corner of the attic) and he definitely hardwired something.

So I'm not sure if I have Wifi password problem or a system that's looking for a wireless connection when it should be looking for wiring. I've powered down the inverter but no joy. Reluctant to go with a factory rest

The installer has offered a call-out but it would be nice if I could sort myself and saved the cost.

I would n't mind but I only got the Zappi fitted 2 days before . Doh .

The Fusion solar app has troubleshooting suggestions for both wireless and hardwired but none are working out.

    Txs

Can you not just use the old SSID and password on the new router so everything stays the same as was.

I actually did n't know that was a thing until I had phones TVs etc re-connected.

I'll definitely do that next time round, but not sure if I can go back now

Your personal devices will all still have the old credentials stored

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 80 ✭✭Borax2709

quick way to solve this in short term if you have an old Wifi router / modern smartphone available.

Connect it to your NEW wifi credentials as normal.

Then turn on hotspot with that phone/AP and "present" it as your OLD wifi setup (i.e set the hotspot wifi name/password matching your network's old SSID and password).

All of your devices that have switched will likely stay on the new wifi - but your inverter can find a route to the internet through the double hop of inverter → phone → router.

I suspect this might be a quick one to answer but our power has just come back on after 5+days (🎉⚡🎉⚡) but now the Solis inverter is not restarting and DC-coupled batteries appear empty when looking at their indicators in the cabinet (they had ~65% SOC when the power went last Fri at 04:44!), any diy advice before I call the professional!? will all come right once DC is being fed from the panels tomorrow?

inverter is back online but getting the "no battery \ CAN fail" alerts. tried recycling the system (DC <> AC <> battery) but no good. plenty of export today 🌞🌞, reckon batteries are drained, will call in the leccy cavalry.

were you using the batteries since the grid went down? if not I can't see a scenario where they self discharged from 65% to be drained, not over 6months nevermind a few days

I wasn't (no backup setup) so annoying that they're flat.

What battery is it? Could it be in sleep mode and needs to be reactivated?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,048 ✭✭✭jkforde

    2 x Pylontech 2.4kwh

would you know how to reactivate it? is it the red SV start button on the master?

    ...that did the trick...🎉⚡

Then they are not flat…but something somewhere in your system is convinced they are…

I'd turn everything off for 15m and then back on again starting with inverter, a quick on and off is not a full on/off process
