No. You know the big time is back when they have Wilson and the prophet of wrongness on for a preview show.

Feck the Olympics, the PL and City’s legal cases are the real stars for good content.

I'm definitely in the less-Branno camp… thought he really pulled down the quality of the LOI chat. All he does is knock things and call them stupid with these self-rightous, yet detail-free, bursts of bantz getting digs in. Sneyd at one point put him down nicely by saying you need to have something more than just anger. He's just such a negative bore a lot of the time, with none of the sly charm and wit that Ken brings when he has a bit of a go at things.

Think the LOI coverage deserves better. Sneyd is decent, and I think would be better again with another better contributor to bounce actual insight off instead of Branno.

I loved the LOI pod. Tribalism, trolling, and some good discussion. A nice mix and pretty much the tone of football chat with my mates these days too (I’d be of the same age bracket as Sneyd and Branno). Wouldn’t mind it every few weeks.

didn’t snyed say shels had absolutely no chance of winning the title this year when Branno suggested it in the title preview?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,434 ✭✭✭Beersmith

No it was the other way around. Eoin even brought that up in yesterday's pod

Rovers are definitely getting stuffed by the Greeks based on how much Branno is buttering them up

Probably for the best, have to keep the LoI Taliban from getting any more notions about giving us national team managers

    Sneyd is great

Ken normally does a season preview on the Arsecast, did that happen does anyone know? I missed it if it did. It's always brilliant.

Bohs being taken to penalties by a glorified district league team in a county that only cares about one type of football might be the funniest thing I’ve seen all weekend and I watched Garnacho miss an open net.

Hopefully Ken gets a chance to wind up Branno

Obviously Gaelic is the main sport but to say they only care about Gaelic is a load of nonsense

The LoI clubs has completely lost the run of themselves.

RTE’s focus should be GAA, rugby, LoI and major international tournaments. It’s easy to understand why they wouldn’t see value in broadcasting a Europa League qualifier that would likely not get many viewers when they’re already in the throes of cost-cutting. There’s many bigger GAA matches that never get TV airing that would get larger audiences than that tie so to pretend they’re being hard done by is very rich.

This Thursday starting at 18:30 when the game is on:

    • RTE 1: Reeling in the Years, The Complaints Bureau, Eastenders and The End of the World with Beanz
    • RTE 2: Home and Away, Big Life Fix, George Clarke's Remarkable Renovations

I seriously doubt these lineups are pulling in big numbers. Rovers are on the cusp of qualifying for the Europa League group stages and it very much should be available on terrestrial TV. How else do you expect to build an audience for it?

Its absolutely crazy RTE are not showing this.

RTE’s focus should be GAA, rugby, LoI and major international tournaments.

Exactly, a LoI club on the cusp of qualifying for a major European tournament. I cannot believe someone would say this game shouldn't be RTE's focus. They'll be covering English clubs once it **** starts. Show the Irish **** teams when they're in it!

Isn't it on Virgin to be showing it as they have the rights and not RTE to the Europa League?

It's a slow week when that Australian break dancer everyone was taking the piss out of a week ago is the main topic for a pod.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,497 ✭✭✭bren2001

Erm….no they don't. It's on LOITV, not virgin.

The 2nd free pod on a Monday is usually GAA or Rugby, both on lulls at the moment in terms of high profile action. Olympics kept them ticking over after the end of the Euros and intercounty GAA season.

Rohan Connolly is excellent anytime he's on. Always speaks with a lot of common sense

A very rare trait for an Aussie. Always enjoy his contributions.

Branno trying to filibuster the Bohs embarrassment by talking about the “non-diverse” Rose of Tralee was not on my bingo card of ways I thought he’d try to absolve his hipster club of responsibility

Good to hear the B-Hop audio bed again, they haven't had the mad f*cker on in a long time.

Liked Brewin apologising for pronouncing Gallagher the wrong way.

1st time I've heard him ( not a subscriber) yeah he talked alot of sense.

I like Conor Niland, just hope he doesn't mean no more Caitlin Thompson.

I can only assume that conversation with him yesterday happened before the Sinner news dropped, be nice to hear his thoughts on PED's in tennis.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,892 ✭✭✭Brock Turnpike

I really hope they cover the Sinner news. Is an absolute joke.

I was listening to Niland today and I thought that he would actually be a good second captain if a space ever opened up. Seems to be on the same wavelength as Eoin with knowledge and humour. Still love Caitlin too

Murph’s inability to say what he knows to be true about Mickey Harte is remarkable. A holy roller dinosaur doing the rounds on rubes who don’t know enough to know he’s a busted flush and has been since his last four or five years in charge of Tyrone.

The improvement he brought to Louth is severely overstated and underrates what Ger Brennan did this season massively. The less said about the Derry job where the panel were essentially in open mutiny by the time of the Ulster championship the better. Now he’s found a county board so stupid it thinks keeping last year’s manager on and making a Celebrity Bainisteoir his ‘co-manager’ is going to end in anything but a flaming wreck.

Mickey’s going to get plenty of ‘mileage’ money travelling to Offaly for the collection basket, anyways.

Him winning the National League was considered big at the time. Very unfair to call him a busted flush based on Derry. Falling out with the players is something entirely different to not understanding the game.

Ger built onto what Mickey did at Louth.
